Forum Guidelines and DDO Code of Conduct

Welcome to The Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited (DDO) Community Forums! It is our intent to foster a helpful, welcoming community. In short, we require our community members to behave in a respectful manner toward each other and follow our Forums Guidelines.

The following are basic rules of conduct that users of The Dungeons & Dragons Online: Eberron Unlimited Community Forums are required to adhere to. Failure to comply with these rules of conduct may result in the termination (“banning”) of your forums and/or game account. Because every situation is different, all moderation of the Community Forums is at the discretion of the DDO Community Team. These rules are subject to change.

1. While participating in the Forums, you must respect the rights of others to participate in the community. To this end you may not harass, defraud, threaten or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other members or Turbine staff. This includes, but is not limited to:
  • Name-calling or other insults
  • Posting with the intent of provoking another user or users
  • Flaming another user for their spelling or grammar
  • Bringing disagreements with someone into unrelated threads
  • Creating a thread or post that calls out another player(s) for their actions in the game
  • Abuse of the Reputation system

2. You may not use sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive language. You may not deliberately misspell, or substitute punctuation or other special characters in, filtered words to circumvent the filter.

3. You may not distribute or spotlight sexually explicit, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially, nationally, ethnically offensive content, or other content deemed inappropriate at the discretion of the moderators. This includes posting links to sites which contain any of the above.

4. You may not impersonate any Turbine, Inc. employee, past or present. This includes the use or modification of the Turbine logo as a forums avatar.

5. You may not violate any local, state, national, or international laws or regulations.

6. You may not market, promote, advertise or solicit products or services for sale or trade within The Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach Community Forums. You may not post advertisements or links for websites that in this sort of business or are not directly related to The Dungeons & Dragons Online: Stormreach.

7. You may not form or participate in groups whose ideology is based on or resembles anti-religious, anti-ethnic, anti-sexual orientation, racist, or sexist philosophies.

8. Making short posts for the sole purpose of moving your thread up the forum ("bumping") or adding to your post count is not allowed. The sole exception to this is in the marketplace forums where informative bumps (i.e., "the vorpal cupcake has been sold") are allowed.

9. You may not upload or transmit copyrighted material, without the express consent of the copyright holder.

10. You may not post the personally identifiable information of another user, including but not limited to their real name, address, phone number, email address, or links to personal websites without the express consent of that user.

11. You may not re-post Private Messages or email on the DDO forums or quote others in your signature, without the express consent of the sender or original poster.

12. Discussion of religious or political topics is prohibited on the DDO forums.

13. Do not re-post or quote any materials which violate the Forums Guidelines. This includes re-posting a thread or topic which has been previously closed by the moderators.

14. Please do not respond to posts made by trolls. Use the Report Bad Post function by clicking on the exclamation point icon at the top right of the post.

15. Users are entitled to one primary account. While secondary accounts are allowed, any account created for the purpose of trolling or otherwise violating the forums guidelines will result in the permanent ban of the secondary account and the temporary or permanent ban of the primary account, at the moderators’ discretion.

16. We do not discuss moderation decisions or disciplinary actions taken against members either with other members or on the forums, and we ask that you do not either. Any threads or posts that mention infractions, bans, or thread/post deletions or modifications, etc. are subject to removal and may result in further disciplinary action.

17. Users must not violate, or promote the violation of, Turbine’s terms of service, codes of conduct or end user license agreements.

18. Posting the same thread to multiple forums ("cross-posting") without express permission of the moderators is not allowed.

19. Posting, reposting or linking to, any information, including but not limited to spoilers, screen shots, and videos of materials covered under a Non-disclosure agreement.

20. You may not deliberately misrepresent yourself as another player or guild in your posts, linked images, or signature.

You must have an active DDO account to post to these forums. All forum accounts are tied to a DDO account. Violations of this Code of Conduct can result in action upon the game account, including suspension and banning.

If your account has been banned from the forums and you feel this ban is in error, ban appeals may be sent via the Contact Us link at the bottom of the forums. Please include your forum name in all correspondence. If you are banned from the game, please submit a help request here.

If you have feedback regarding your experience with DDO's Customer Service department, please submit your feedback here.
