We are looking into this. We - think - this is a DX9 versus DX11 issue, and we haven't been able to get the bug to display in DX11.
Cordovan: I've seen at least two crashes in DX11 since the last patch. Here's the text from the windows event log in case it helps:

I was alt tabbing to check something in another window. I run full screen maximized and have a relatively current AMD based system. Drivers and windows update all current.

Had another alt that could add a level, so took DL-Black. Had the white square until I worked the Enhancement, then the white square turned into the black circle of runes with some little green florets.

While it was still a white square, I got on an elevated spot. Looking up from below the plane, the square disappears. Scrolling in to 1st-person view, it also disappears.
