Lurker, now considered a target to Troll, wails on the insanity of the internet in general and foolish Trolls with more time to write longer and more expositions than the Lurker has done in the past, none that make sense. Lurker is now sad s/he has zero ability to to use "Rep" system so he could go back to Lurking rather than expose him(her) self to all and now is a target to forum trolls.
Lurker returns a day later discovering they've either been flamed to high heaven or completely ignored. Also, the lurker is mightily impressed by the exponentional increase in posts in a single day. Lurker will generally be pleased to see that a number of the forum heavy-weights defended them during absence from boards. If the lurker bothers to post it will be to do an extensive rebuttal/agreement post using many quote boxes and be about this long:
Quote:
some relevent comment from a poster, usually a post from the OP.
rebuttal/confirmation statement
Quote:
another relevent comment from a poster. May or may not be for the same poster
rebuttal/confirmation statement

...this will continue until Lurker has said their piece. Lurker will internally bemoan the fact that there is no emoticon that does justice to the "You're an F-ing idiot" look followed by turning your back to the offender and walking away that can be done in real life. Lurker will return to lurking, but continue to read thread until it gets locked or de-generates at some point in the future into a flame war between OP and one or two people who continue to argue the opposition.

Self-congratulating post about this being 1000th post.
Offers congradulations to above quoted poster, adding that it was not heartfelt and was padding her own post count.
Ponders the interelationship between socks and cheese.

Post from one of two posters who to this point have been having a related but irrelavant good-natured discussion concerning some peripheral aspect of the original arguement. This post suggests that they abandon thread and continue disscusion through IMs, AIM, or some other chat option.
Second post that has many quotes from several pages to demonstrate that poster has indead read entire debate and has a opinion and no thread survives with only one many multi-quote post.

Required posting of first quote demonstrating agreement with quoted poster but arriving very late to the debate and quoting a post from several pages ago with this response posting on the 5th page.

Agrees with sarcastic post and wishes more rep could be spread but have to wait 24 hours.

Required outspoken statement that WOW sucks and how it is far inferior to DDO.

opposition.
Lambasting quoted person(s) for their rational as the person they quoted was right all along.

Improper post of a reply to the wrong thread but it takes on a life of it's own, causing the original purpose of the thread to be lost.
Agrees with first part concerning chicken but disagrees with tuna so offers a harsh response to poster for liking tuna and begins flaming.

Hypocricical harsh respons to the harsh response.

New lurker sees OP post, reads one page in, responds to rebuttal with statement that by now has nothing to do with original post, nor current direction of post.
Soon after follows edit that states new lurker was late to the game, apologizes.
Dev posts relevant information two weeks after the last post.
This relevant information has already been deduced by forum statisticians using the empirical method, but he only skimmed the thread and didn't find it.
Dev's comment is misread as sarcastic.
Dev gets flamed and crawls back under his rock to lurk until the next mod.

Immediately quotes Turbine Dev, and asks completely unrelated question about a long standing issue with the game and inquiring if there is any fix imminent?
