With the imminent death of EU servers due to lack of advertising and support from Codemasters and Atari (for many reason). Why hasn’t Turbine stepped in to help in any way to try and salvage the EU player base (like me) who have played since beta/early start up and been part of the community ever since.
We all know a character transfer to a US server is possible (as it’s been done before and the data stream is very simple process)
Does Turbine not care????????
........or do they think. Whilst the ship is sinking in the EU, the player base has 2 options
1. You can drown never to be seen again
2. Swim to the US by themselves (leaving all their belongings behind).
The European player base would like to know if you are giving Codemasters the Ashencore salute?
..........and more importantly are you doing it us?
(BTW this should have gone on official discussion thread, but that’s locked to GM's starting posts)
Contractually - they very likely can't step in, no matter how much they'd like to. It may also be over Turbine's head, and have more to do with the Hasbro/Atari lawsuit that is underway.
I can't speak for Turbine, but I really feel horrible for the situation the EU players are in.

Thanks for your input (without causing offence), I can speculate for myself
I just want to see if Turbine would officially give a reply
Turbine can contractually say many things i.e.: "We cannot help or discuss this matter until the smoke screen, ehhhhh I mean, legal discussions are made.
Then the EU knows there years off getting an answer and hence make a real choice.
Today and for the last 6-24 month we have had no new blood, updates are many months behind (still on mod 11 (1 here in US) we have no community left (24 visible on Devourer 10 mins ago), no shop, loads of features different, Codemasters doesn’t answer tickets in game or on forums, GM's offer little or no support, closing tickets many hours after issue (but ofc with the reply time same minute you post your ticket this makes them even more dishonest).

The only problem is that with a Gag Order (not saying there is one) you can't even tell someone that they can't answer because of the legal battle (I believe that is how it works, I am not a lawyer, and would not want to risk getting charged just asking to make sure I am right...lol). Regrdless, they may not be able to say anything more than, "sorry EU and Codemasters are having issues, but we can't comment at this time", and you will be no farther than you were before you posed the question.

We are all sorry for what is going on over there you guys are really having a rought time.
I know everyone over here in the US servers will gladly welcome you with arm wide open. I think there are more and more coming over so im pretty sure you can always find people to party with.
It sucks to start over but knowledge of the game counts for about 85% of it.

We’re aware that many of you are eagerly waiting for the release of the next update for DDO (Module 11) and wanted to give you an update on this going live in EU.
At this point the update for EU is still some time off - we are actively working with Turbine to work out the best solution for Module 11 and expect to have a plan within the next few weeks that we are able to communicate with you. The main reason it is taking time is that we are working on long term plans for DDO, rather than simply dealing with the short term.
Once we have more clarity on the plans and some final decisions we will provide more information to you all. We apologise for any delays with content that come about from this.
.....and this is same thing over last 2 years. Loads of "soon", "maybe", "shortly", in a few weeks or Satine's favourite Codemasters have "substantial" contract to provide DDO to the EU
At this point in time, the best thing would be if Codemasters gave up the European DDO and offered transfers. They must be running DDO EU (as in "European Union"... ) at a loss now. If CM have a "get-out-of-jail"-clause in their contract they should use that, and call it a day.
At peak times, there's 80-120 players on each of the two European servers, at non-peak from 1 (and that would be yourself) to 20. Raids take forever to fill. LFM's go up, and stay up, with one person in them, until the leader takes it down. That's not "Massively". That's "Miniscule"... Each of the US servers have many hundreds or several thousands of online players - at all hours. I know that wasn't the case pre-Unlimited, but the US service was never close to this.
The EU game is dead. Codemasters and Turbine, give us transfers please.

Before someone say's we (the EU) all know the current European servers are closing. Codemasters have acknowledged by saying they have a contract ending and Turbine saying they are ending Codemasters contract to provide DDO-EU so let’s not pull any punches.
If court dates are the smoke screen, they are public knowledge/non disclosure. So why not give dates to say things like, we cannot give any further information until xyz

can you provide some links here? all codemasters said was that they are able to run ddo for quite some time to come [TM]...

was trying last 30 mins to find this link from Satine saying that the contract is ending, giving the missleading end date of i.e. soon but couldnt find, dunno if she deleted (will post u private tell about other reason)
1) While Turbine make the game you are a customer of Codemasters and not a customer of theirs directly. If they were seen to be poaching customers I'm sure that would be a "bad" thing
2) there is a lawsuit ongoing and I'm sure they cannot say anything publically that may prejudice this in any way. Pretty much anything said publically might be interpreted in some way, and so they stay quiet about it.

I found and response with quotes with Satine stating the DDO-EU contract has "quiet some time" left before ending, but cant find her posting (maybe she may have edited or deleted). But we all know its ending because this statement came around from Turbine high ranking emplyee saying so
ahhh k I found the Satine posting on LOTR (same thing there about people leaving etc), but this covers the Turbine pull out encase any1 didnt know that part.
We have an ongoing contract with Turbine for DDO and LOTRO which we fully expect to be honoured. We anticipate operating DDO and LOTRO in Europe for quite some time to come.

ok, thats why i asked. that however does not mean the contract is about to end. it sure does somewhen because contracts are not open ended (usually). i can imagine 5 years to be a reasonable time for a first time contract on a well named mmo (dungeons and dragons). but thats just speculating and all we know is that its not a 4 years contract.

There have been europe to us server transfers in the past!?!?!?!?!? Really? Seems odd, since Turbine are on record as saying it is not possible. Yep it was a long time ago (when the european servers merged quite a few people decided that was the death of DDO europe and begged for transfers then).
In more rescent posts about european transfers the forum mods have said that it isn't possible too. Now no one has explained why it isn't, so don't starting leaping up and down telling me you have a Phd in server transfers and of course it possible. The transfer may not be legally possible rather than technically possible.
I played on the european servers from launch until november 09 when financial problems forced me to stop paying my subs, and would love to get a transfer of my CM account over here believe me, but given the answers we have had in the past I'm not holding my breath!

there have been some confirmed transfers to us-servers in the history of ddo. dunno what caused it and how it was done, but it was done. personally i don't have evidence and i don't have seen any evidence but have a contact (that i trust) saying its true.
Why do you want a character transfer Tanki, you can finally get your toons built right without anyone knowing how gimped your EU toons are, why bring the gimps over....
