The Mod 9 Tailgate Party!
   Welcome to the Mod 9 Tailgate Party! This is the place for Mod 9 related discussions, and a place to hang out while we await the arrival of Mod 9. We all know that as the old song goes "waiting is the hardest part," but it's even harder unless you can have some fun while you're at it! So we'd like to kick off the tailgate party with this thread, and other fun along the way, while we prepare for the coming of Mod 9. We understand and share your frustrations, and we value all our players who are choosing to spend their time with us in Eberron! In this thread, we ask that you come together with us to laugh, cry, do the Mod 9 rain dance, or even just express your feelings (all within the forum guidelines of course). If you have any Mod 9 centric thoughts, zany anecdotes, or other such discussions, we ask that you bring them all here to help Tarrant and I more easily aggregate feedback, and also pool together as a community - staff and player alike. No tailgate would be complete without some festivities, so we've already kicked things off with another contest! It's motivational May, and we're looking for motivational DDO posters! Next week it will be time to grab a brush, get out your pencils, and ready your pastels for the DDO Fan Art contest! Meanwhile, Flimsyfirewood, Purplefooz, and Dreamreaver have invaded Tell the Team with some tough lore questions! For the not-as-lore savy, let's talk races! We have some more fun cards up our sleeves as we spend our time together until it's time to go to Shavarath! Other Tailgate Tips: - Wondering what some of the Mod 9 features are? Make sure to check the Official Discussions forum for a look at some of the features you'll see. As we're able to bring more tidbits and previews for you, they will be made available in the official discussions threads! - Did you try some of Mod 9 on Lamannia? Remember the Lamannia forums are still available if you didn't get a chance to share your preview feedback! While this thread is great for more organic comments, if you have very specific Mod 9 feedback based on Lamannia, be sure to head to the Lamannia forums! - No one wants to reveal the fun and surprises of Mod 9 more than us! As soon as we're able to bring updates about what's going on behind the curtain, we'll bring word! And now, because no tailgate party is complete without a rambling heart to heart: We can all lament, but ultimately it isn't going to make Mod 9 be unveiled any sooner. In our eagerness to see Mod 9 arrive, of late it feels like the forums have lost a little spring from our step - the type of spring that makes DDO the best community around. We can't lose sight of who we are, nor forget about the new players who are coming into our fold eager to experience DDO! These players are going to continue to need support and guidance, and they often turn to the forums for that help. DDO has a great community, and some of the most helpful, generous, and informative players I've come across. Be sure to dive into the Free Trial and Welcome New Adventurers forums to help welcome these players into the fold! From the first time I smashed a barrel to find a wizard's stone for Euphonia, I fell in love with this community and this game. There isn't any place else Tarrant, myself, or the other members of the team would rather be than here with you all as we gear up to go to Shavarath, our first true extra planar excursion! I just want the Mod out. I recently bought the game after trying it a long time ago and beta testing simply because Mod 9 is offering more of what I am looking for. The wait for it I think is going to drive more people away than bring in the new as the Mod seems to be pointed toward.

Any chance we can get some mod 10 previews? I would like to see mod 10 here soon after mod 9 (within a few weeks actually). That is what we expect from Turbine is new mods every 3-4 months. If the 3-4 month update schedule changed to a 6-7 month update schedule then I would welcome that news as well. We got news from Turbine management when they changed from releasing monthly updates to the 3-4 month update model so we should get news of this change as well.
