Default Stormreach Chronicle 05-15-09

A weekly look at what's happening around the forums! Tips, community spotlights, Turbine info, and more!

These players have gone above and beyond the call with a great contribution to the community!

As Mazeratti fondly recalls, we were all noobs to DDO and MMO's at one time. This week's Community Spotlight focuses on Mazeratti's thread where we all Remember when we fell in love with DDO and MMO's. Come share your memories!

Looking for a guild? Try one of our featured guilds today!

This week we have something a little different for the guild hall!

Guild:
R.O.G.U.E. Proving Grounds
Recruitment Thread: http://forums.ddo.com/showthread.php?t=172755

About The Guild: The Ruthless Order of Guile, Utility, and Extermination is a cross-server guild in which rogues of all types are welcome. The purpose of this guild is to develop a "proving grounds" for the shadowy arts. That is, criteria to help test the boundaries of what we, as rogues, can accomplish.

The proving grounds are split into 4 main categories: Skulduggery, Marks, Trapsmithing and Thuggery. Everything currently listed in each section is temporary until I can get advice and feedback from the rogues on the forums.

Over 500 guilds have pages in the Compendium guild listings, and yours can too! Try a template today!

Helping new or returning players, one topic at a time!

DDO Dictionary: Skill Rank
Definition: A number indicating how much training or experience a character has with a given skill. Skill rank is incorporated into the skill modifier, which in turn improves the chance of success for skill checks with that skill.

Looking for a player-run event? Hosting an event? Be sure to visit the Forum Calendars!

Friday, May 15th: Warforged Night

About The Event: Would like to schedule a warforged night for this Friday evening. High level and lowbie groups. Let me know who's interested please.

Planning on Titan, and possibly Shroud or maybe Hound for high levels. Until we get the repair mass spells, it seems to work best to have 6 arcanes and 6 tanks for the Shroud.

Want your player-run event listed in the calendars? Be sure to check out our guide to posting events!

In a world where threads are tasty and posts are food, one Cube has chosen a question.
Now he's looking for answers...

This Week's Question, totmacher asks:
Cube vs. Cthulu - who would win?

This week's Answers:
sjwalker1973 says: Um sorry Cube, but I would go with Cuthulu on this one. Unless you're a follower of Cuthulu.

Trillea says: Cube would engulf Cthulhu and become Cubethulhu.

Sehenry03 says: Why all this anti-cube feelings lately? What has he ever done other then help us...wait...when did he help us last? He actually makes us live in fear...holds us back and keeps us in perma fear check. GO CTHULU!!!!

The Cube would likely invite this Cthulhu over for tea, where they would dine on small sandwiches and tell stories about those they have terrorized. The Cube would then strike during naptime, cementing its victory.
- Your friend, The Cube

Next Week's Question, FlimsyFirewood asks:
Would you rather go on a date with an Inspired Vessel, a Succubus, a Drow Volkor Priestess during the sacrifice season, the Lord of Blades, or a Beholder?

Think you have a good question for the community? Let the Cube judge!
Send your question for the Community to DDO@turbine.com - your questions/answers could make it past the Cube's belly, and into the next Chronicle!

They are all going to end badly. At least with the Succubus you may go out with a smile on your face

I've seen plenty of people go out with a smile on their face as a sacrifice, both will and unwilling. THough usually those who were unwilling had the smile carved for them. And plenty of people left the party with smile on their face when they unknowingly ran into a beholder or 2 or 3 or 4. The poor souls never knew what hit them and thus never had time let their facial expressions react.

In either case, I always left the party on my own two feet with a smile on my face. Better them, than me, I always say. Always look on the bright side of life.
