Do we have any idea whether the delay is best measured in hours, days, weeks, or months?
Some in days some in weeks. Not months and not hours.

Ok, I read that as a "we're trying to change things" kind of post. Not an edit to the previous patch notes. It would have been nice if the patch notes we did get to see were edited to reflect on that hidden message. I thought he was just mentioning a few changes, not those were the ONLY changes.
Does anyone know how many points veteran status will cost? I am trying to plan out my turbine point usage, heh. The 32 point build in rather high point cost, but considering what you get for it I think it fits. I am hoping that the veteran status in not that high in cost.
well the veteran status worked fine if you have the 1000 favor. I talked to Nyx and he rambled on about some nonsense that really didn't tell me I had it activated, but I looked at the Patrons screen and on the Total Favor line it said "head start". I then successfully created a new level 4 character. I figured it didn't show in the store for me b/c I already had it. ( Another reason to show us things we can't buy as well as things we can ). Is it possible you guys that can't buy this happen to have 1000+ favor by any chance?
I'm a new VIP (one of the F2P players that loved the game enough to sub) and I do not have 1000 favor yet... nor will I for a while. It would be nice if new VIPs could purchase vet status in the store...
so vet status wont be free for the people that sub then?
It's free if you reach 1000 favor, or you can buy it from the DDO Store.

For the free version though, I believe it is server specific just like 32 point build. Only unlocked on the server you reach 1000 favour on. Whereas if you buy it, it is unlocked for all servers.
So what did we get in Update 1? 5 quests and epic level in a few more? Is that it? Is that the sort of amount of content we can expect in an Update?
Not going to be popular with this here but I have to say it. 32 point builds tomes and the like can be brought in the store may have made me groan but I can live with it.
But people wanting veteran status in the store (which yeah supposedly it will have) makes no sense to me. Its called "veteran status" meaning an option for people who have played the game long enough to at least unlock 1000 favor. Is favor really that hard to earn?
I know I know it wont affect your game play but ugh it just bugs me every other favor reward has been made a joke thanks to the store now they will add vet status for a price whats the point of calling it that. When someone with tp who only played a week can just buy it and be one to?

/rant of angry old woman off and sighs.
I joined well before you did, I have played for quite a while (got multiple characters to level 11 or 12 when cap was 12) and then played off and on (and off and on, and off and on) and now I am back again. Two things that have kept me from getting 1000 favor are the fact that favor wasn't a big deal when the game first came out so a good portion of us got the favor we needed to get the useful items but getting huge amounts of favor across the board didn't really matter. The 32 point build wasn't around when the game was first launched, it was well after that that the 32 point build came out so that wasn't something to strive for. 400 points for Drow was a big thing and that was something that most of us had because you can stumble across 400 favor getting to level 11 or 12. I have six characters right now with between 700-800 favor and have deleted many more over the years with the same basic favor amount. So tell me again how I am less of a vet to the GAME then you are again?
Some people could have played the game casually, enjoying the different built types and having fun with a bunch of alts and never see 1K favor. So because of there play style and addiction to alts and having fun over grinding exp or favor they are a less worthy "Vet" then you are? I joined 2 years PRIOR to you lives through the start of the game and ALL the massive changes that took place making characters I built go from great to completely useless. Went through the first two years of the game evolving and changing in huge ways to where you picked a feat and a month later it became useless because of other changes to the game they made and you just had to deal with that bad feat in your build. The changes are what eventually chased me away, I got tired of making a character only to have it end up being broken by some change they made to balance things, this still happens but it never happens as much in any MMO as it does when the game is first launched.
To be honest it can be argued that if you started in Jan of 2008 (as your forum profile says) your a more of a Johnny come lately then a Vet as you didn't go through the tough times of the game and have more been here sense the game got easy and most of the bugs to the basic game (expansions are different) were worked through and the character classes were more flushed out and "final" then when the game first came out and it was changing so much. I'm not knocking you, I'm just saying that your idea of "Vet" is very short sighted. Because I played when favor was less important and you came in when favor was not only more important but easier to get (higher levels, easier quests, much more quests more raids which give more favor etc etc etc.) I am somehow less of a "Vet" to this game then you are? I don't think you are looking at the entire picture.
Mabey a different way would be say XXXX amount of favor or X amount of time in the game you can buy it in the store if you haven't got the right favor. That would be a true way of making sure EVERY "Vet" to this game can get the same thing, but keep Joe Noobie from getting a "Vet" reward.
Okay mister your join date on the forums is older I have only been playing since late 2007 started up in the forums in 2008 Im not from head start but I have been playing over 2 years was here for the tail end of xp debt and the later which yes I didnt get to enjoy like most of the veterans here. Im saying that it shouldnt be called vet status if someone can buy it in the store. And even a casual gamer now with the new quests that have been added at low levels can get to a 1000 favor. Unless you can only play one day a month I can hardly believe that its hard now to get favor. I have heard the stories of the players who went threw the rough stuff I am apart of a guild on sarlona who have players since headstart so please save your "you dont know what its like cause your forum date says other wise stuff."
Im not a head start vet but I have been around long enough to say that if you call something veteran status yet allow anyone with money to buy it its not a real perk to vip's and to me just like most of the latest stuff the vip is just a way of saying "oh look you still pay a subscription."

I said I wasn't picking on YOU, I simply was pointing out to say someone shouldn't have access to Vet reward items or favor items because being a "Vet" means just that, that you have been around and such is short sighted. There are people that will play this game for years and never see 1K favor and for sure not see 1700+ favor. That doesn't make them any less of a "Vet" they you or me or anyone else. The concept that "Vet" = favor is completely flawed. I also said that I was just going off your forum date, so get over yourself on the whole "I been here sense..." and take what I said in the entire post not just parts of it.
Being a "Vet" of this game doesn't mean you have 1K favor, someone with 5 friends in a huge guild could get 1K favor less then a week easily (more like a day if they tried). So that person that didn't do anything in a quest but sit at the entrance and gain favor because they knew people who have played and are high level is a "Vet" to you? They have the favor for the "Vet" reward after. Someone who's a casual player and makes alot of alts could play for years and not see 1K favor. Who's the "Vet"? See how the "Favor = Vet" concept is flawed?
