Nice work, I will mention this on the next show, prob after the new year, and link to it on DDOcast. Only suggestion I would have is to put a big search box somewhere on your home page, since a lot of people looking for stuff will be visiting to look something up in particular.

I have tons of things I still want to do it is just a matter of time. I never have enough. But it is usable for now and will add to it as I can.

This is fair from what my final vision of the site is. It was functional and I wanted to get it out so people could use it.

Happy Holidays Everyone!

I have been a DDO junky since early beta. I love D&D and I love this game. I have learned, through years of playing PnP and DDO, much of the many quests and items of the game. During this time I have also learned where to find this information. There is a myriad of great guides on the forums, some very helpful web sites, wiki and many other sources of game information.

However, there seemed to be a void that I found myself filling more and more with the new players. The role I found myself in was that of being a kiosk, directory and web portal. I soon found I could spend most of a night gaming literally standing in front of the bank being flooded with tells. Trying to do what I could to help players new and old players a like. Everything from explaining rules to techniques for the game to what gear would be best, where to get it and how it may or may not interfere with what they have now.

http://www.ddmsrealm.com/ddo/ is my answer to these lost nights of playing! More nights of no playing building this site! Hehe seriously though, this site will serve as both a robust database and portal to point players in the right direction.

This site is in its beta form but I wanted to get it out to the community for the holidays. Now with the XP boost for the next few weeks I will be working on that instead of this site. Hopefully it will come in handy and help out players of all experience levels.

Currently this site houses a fairly robust item and quest database. There are two main sections but these are interlinked to help you find the information you are looking for.

There are some simple search features available now. Don’t fret, I will be beefing this up in the future. The columns can also be sorted by simply clicking the column you would like to sort by. This does give fairly good control of the results of the search.

I would like to say thanks to Dragon.Star and Lost Leader for all the work they have done on their own guides. These were used and heavily referenced for DDM’s Realm. I would like to thank the members of the Disciples of the Apocalypse on Sarlona for all their help with gathering information and testing the alpha version. I would also like to thank the community for the wide variety of other guides and tools that have been created. If you would like to have them included in this site please let me know. This site is supposed to act as a portal as well. I see no reason to reinvent the wheel. (Unless of course I want to learn how you created your wheel… One of the motivations behind this site was to brush up/learn this stuff. Plus, I am a bit of a geek. /shrug)

Please enjoy the site. I hope that everyone can find it useful. If there is missing or incorrect information please let me know and I will fix it as soon as possible. You can do this by posting in this thread, PMing me or sending and email to webmaster@ddmsrealm.com. This is a collection of many guides, forum posts, my knowledge and research and is far from being done. If it ever will be “done”…

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday season! Now that the XP bonanza is over I guess it is back to work.

Having powered my Assassin, Mortalis, through a ~Swirly~ back up to 14th level I was able to verify and check info as we went through the grind. I have added a smattering of low and mid level information. I have made a few corrections and will be making many changes in the future.

(We have come to call True Reincarnation going Swirly in our guild or simply ~. TR is Tangleroot and should not be associated with True Reincarnation! So good luck getting a Swirly all! )

Anyway, I hope this site helped you find the good XP runs. If you have any suggestions or things you would like to see let me know and I will see what I can do.

Hehe thanks! Ya I sit around at work all day trying to make these forums work. All the images are blocked as are the buttons. Half the time I have to actually type the php code to start threads or reply etc... Which is why I mostly just lurk... So I figured I would also keep it clean so all the stupid blocking software wouldn't stop it.

I know the site is a bit rough. There is still tons I wanted to do but figured the data was there and could be used so might as well put it out for the community.

I have lots of plans... just need to find the time at work to do it!

I just loaded a bunch of wilderness information into the database. It should now list all of the XP, rares and explores along with tips and tricks for these wilderness areas. Under the additional resources section there should be links to maps for these areas. Thanks Dorim!

I also added a Wilderness List. The link is on the left hand side below the Top 10 XP Runs. (Which, by the way will have a better formula to calculate this… stay tuned!)

Very Nice! Thanks for all the work in putting this together, it is (and will be) very helpful.

I did want to mention one thing, I think the post for Tomb of the Shadow Knight (Necrop. 2) needs updating. I think they must have bumped the xp for that quest since this was written because when I ran it (as a lvl 11 toon) I was getting closer to 9k xp. Now that was during the 20% bump weeks but even without that it would be like 7500. Also, the 2 optional quests to disable first 10, then 20, traps, give another 6k xp (about 1500 for the first and close to 5k for the second). Sorry, don't have the exact numbers with me at work. There are also a couple of other red-named optionals (which, of course, aren't really optional) that give about 700xp each. All in all, I think the first time I ran it, completing all the optionals, I got close to 16k xp.

Thanks for the info! I went back and checked it out. I will have the changes in the next database update. With the optionals here you can get a ton of extra XP.

I pulled the info from many different places. Some old, some new so the data may not be 100%. I am currently in the process of going through every quest in the game and trying to get all the stats on them. As you can imagine this is a pretty big job! hehe I am about halfway done or so.

Look for a major update with Update 3. I have already collected most of the info for those but do not want to update the site until it is released.

Please let me know of any other things you find! I would love to get this thing 100% "verified" but there is a ton of info and the Devs like to change things on us.

DDM’s Realm Update 3 Notes

• Major face lift, now less ugly.
• Linked into Borro’s DDO Wiki. Find these resource links at the bottom of the page for the item/quest.
• Casual XP added to quests.
• New Quests Added.
• More quests verified.
• Piles of corrections and adjustments made.
• Tons of tips added.
• More resources added to quests. (Maps, guides, etc.)
• Top 10 XP Quests formula modified. This takes into account optional XP now so it more accurately reflects the true XP value of a quest!
• New Top Ten section. Narrow this by level range and fine tune those ideal quests you should run.
• Added an Adventure Pack summary and search. Check out what Adventure Pack is available, cost, quests and loot that can be found in them.
• Added Newest Quest List Summary.
• Added Recently Updated Quest Summary!

Look for many more updates to come. I have lots more I want to do I just simply could not get it all in yet.

Well with the bonus week I may slow down on the updates some. However I did get a few in. The Risia Ice Games have been added. I do not have 100% of the info yet, but am having some issues with my item importer… grr… I will be adding the new epics as soon as I can.

• I got a bunch of updates to current quests done.
• All quests should have Casual XP listed now as well.
• The Catacombs have been verified with tips and tricks added to them.

Just a quick update - I have added most of the VoN Epic Items into the database. I think I have the item importer working again so I hope to get the rest of them in ASAP.

With the XP weekend I wanted to remind people to try out the Top Ten lists. It can be found here: http://www.ddmsrealm.com/ddo/TopTen.aspx

Slap in the level range you are looking for and it should bring up the best quests for XP and Loot in that range. Try it out! I hope it helps you level over the weekend!

Once I get the database up to date with all the Update 3 items/changes I will get some of the new features I have been working on in.

I love your site. Has a lot of great information in it, and I really want to see it become the best it can be.

One thing I have to say is that right now it is very hard to read and/or navigate around. Now me being a web designer, there are always a few things I like to keep in mind. Keep the colors to a minimum. Right now, you have so many colors and images as backgrounds and title colors, it's really hard to get a feel for what is happening.

Keep things to a grid system. Meaning that things should line up with other things in an orderly fashion. Now it seems like things are just floating around in random positions.

Navigation should be easy to find and use. I didn't even realize there were buttons on the upper left side for a while. They just blend in with the background so much, it's really difficult to see them.

Please don't take this as harsh. I love what you are doing and think it's great. I just don't want people to go to the site, then leave immediately because it is making their eyes bleed. If you need any help at all with the design aspect of it, please send me a PM, as I would love to help if you want.

To be perfectly honest the LOOK of the site was at the bottom of my priority list. It was horrid when I first released it. heh I do plan on doing a bit of an overhaul on the looks though, I just have to make the art assets. I was pretty much focused on DB design and functionality and did not bother much with look/layout.

I plan to clean it up, sorry about the bleeding eyes! I am also looking at making it friendlier for the in game browser.

Unfortunately I have been super busy and unable to put much time in on it recently. I need to finish getting all the Update 3 info in the DB then I will try to take away some ugly!

Thanks for the heads up on the buttons though. If you missed them, I am sure others have so I will at least try to make these easier to see.
