Default Where to find the good stuff?

Is there a place to find good stuff? Is there are market or do you have to go to the auction?

What is good equipment for level 6?

Is there a way to show a character page so that others can see my character and tell me what I can do to improve it?

As of late I've been joining parties and we've been just getting pasted. Has there been a buff in the game lately or is there something I can do to make my character better?

My character is a Dwarf Figher if that makes a huge difference.

There are (pawn) brokers in the Market (wpns and armor for level 4, other items for all levels) and in House D (weapons level 6+) and house K (Armor level 6+) who buy and sell from players.

Brokers pay quite a bit more than ordinary vendors, then hold the stuff they buy in stock for a while for others to purchase. Since they pay more and hold for resale, you can often find useful items on them. These may not be the best items, which people would put on the Auction House, but often are quite useful and much cheaper than the AH.

You can also get lucky and find a good item on the AH with a low price. It pays to check the AH 1-2 times per gaming session, like login and logout, just to see what's available.

What do you mean, you've been joining parties and getting pasted? Like, you in particular are dying a lot, or the whole party is wiping? What kind of quests are you running? What is the group makeup? Is everyone else similarly poorly geared? Are you grouping with people higher level than you? Lower level?

There are so many factors that could be contributing to your apparent failure. I'm 99.9% sure it isn't related to gear.

Guessing from your post, it's the whole party being wiped. A couple of things might help.

1 - Don't play hard mode on quests you're a level or two lower than whats supposed to be there. In fact, move down to quests more on level with your party members.

2 - Work together. Fight together. You're a fighter; don't rush forward attacking everything and leave your party behind, and don't rush through traps. Stay with your team, let the casters use crowd control spells to disperse enemy strength, then move in and take them out 1 by 1. let the rogue forward to disarm traps and find secret passages. Etc...

You may be doing this already; I don't know, and I don't mean to offend you if you are. But gear alone usually isn't going to cause a TPK.

When the entire party gets beat, its because I'm part of a bad party. I've been part of good parties and bad. When I do a new quest (tonight redwood) I'll do stupid things like stop and fight giants while everyone else runs to a better defensive position.

I was able to upgrade my equipment tonight and I'm quite pleased. +2 Dwarven Axe is now +4. +2 Full Plate is now +4. I'm still stuck with my +2 Mithril Heavy Shield. Does the auction house allow you to buy helms and shields?

I have a lvl 7 fightner now with about 150 hp. Doing the house quests I get better drops. Not a whole lot that I can use, but better gold when I sell. The Auction House is great. Better equipment for a decent price. I'm hoping to pick up Adamentium Plate here in a week or so.

Any suggestions for equipment would be greatly appreciated.

If you tell us the name and server we can look you up on my.DDO.com.

We can't see the feats, which may be important.

As a sword n' board fighter, you're going to want to use your shield block for extra damage reduction once in a while. You will not kill tough monsters on your own. You have made the choice to trade offense for defense, so don't use an offensive playstyle. If your intimidate skill is high, intimidate like a mofo. If your AC is high (and I mean really high), you shouldn't be dying. If neither of those is true, why the heck are you playing a sword n' board fighter? Pick up a greataxe and kill stuff instead!

Generally drops are a bit lower than the quest level itself.

So you'll likely pull ml4 items from lvl 5-6 quests so if this is your first character with no outside help you'll likely be somewhat undergeared for your level and you won't have significand income from selling the loot until maybe level 10+ where value of the trash drops you selling to brokers will increase. Which could possibly make buying equipment from AH/brokers somewhat dificult.

As other posters were suggesting, try to not do quests above your level and try to play to the group strengths, teamwork does make a difference. Once you get to level 12-14, it'll be much easier

What server you are playing on? If it's Khyber, I may check if I have any level-appropriate stuff laying around...

I think my server is Ghallanda.

I'm doing well now. I'm just looking for cheap upgrades when I can find them. Right now my +4 Dwarf Axe does about the same damage as my +2 Great Axe (if I'm understanding the stats properly). So at the moment I'm sticking witht eh dwarf Axe. If I win the +4 Great Axe in the auction, I'll start to use that.

That day that I got beat down a couple of times was just due to weak groups. I've been doing fine as of late. My biggest problems at the moment are jumping and swimming under water. But that's my problem, not equipment.

Thanks for the help.

Check out the weapon brokers in House Deneith and armor brokers in House K (equip sold to the vendor by other players is available for purchase at the items price).

You can often pick up a bargain.

Equipment can help in both of these areas. You can buy or loot items that: add to your Jump or Swim skills, cast a jump spell on you, or cast Water Breathing on you. You may not want to wear these all the time, but you can put them on a hotkey along with the item you usually wear in that slot and swap them on and off quickly as needed.

If you get a clicky of water breathing, like a 3/day one, you can practice mouselook mode manuevering underwater in the harbor, swimming around the piers and wrecks.

I've seen some of the things that can help. One of them is a feat and I do have boots that help me jump. I just equipped those yesterday.

I was able to pick up the +4 great axe (level 6 and I'm level 7) for less than 8k gold using the AH. I look into the the other shops.
