The Order of Cygnus is looking for more explorers to learn with us!
UPDATE: Thanks to all those who've contacted us about our guild. We're having a great time with all of our new guildies and are having a blast leveling up our lowbie alts with the new recruits. For the time being, however, we'd like to start focusing on our upper level characters and are not accepting new members below level 12. Don't worry, though, we'll open up recruitment again to all levels again! Thanks!
Who we are:
Like many people, a small handful of friends and family who used to play PnP D&D (circa 1992) decided to give DDO a try when it went F2P. Thus, The Order of Cygnus was born. It started with 3 of us, then a few more in-person friends joined us, as well as a couple of friend-of-friends and a couple of people we've run with in-game.
We're all newbs as far as the vets are concerned. We started with F2P and none of us have capped characters, yet; our highest level is 15. However, please try not to confuse us with the n00bs, as we may not know everything about the game, but we learn as best and as fast as we can (except maybe my husband...but everyone is free to take potshots at him, and do, anyway).
How we run:
Slowly. For the most part (this does not include leveling up our alts on korthos or 3rd re-roll of a character, of course). But unless we go into a quest well above level for favor only, we explore every inch of the dungeon, break every barrel, and usually try to kill every monster. Unless it's korthos on an alt/re-roll, we don't care about XP per minute, and would rather complete a dungeon successfully with no wipes in 2 hours, than wipe trying to make it through as fast as possible for max XP:time ratio (already did the whole Delera's-in-30-minutes thing, not doing that ever again).
When we run:
Whenever. No, seriously. With the exception of one or two of us, we (as a collective) are the epitome of "casual". There are some who haven't logged in for over a month, and some that log in every day. We never schedule any playtimes, and are located throughout the Pacific and North America (from Hawaii to Texas to Toronto). We log on when we feel like it, PUG when we feel like it, run with guildies when we feel like it...and typically don't take offense if someone doesn't want to run with guildies (well, except maybe my husband, but he doesn't really count).
Who we are looking for:
Anyone with a character above level 12 who read through the blocks of text above (yeah, sorry, I'm very wordy) and hasn't run away or wanted to throw pointy objects at me, yet.
If you like to sniff flowers, have a sense of humor (there is much joking around and good-natured insults to be had at other guildies' expenses...usually my husband), are self-sufficient (we roll without "healers" often, if you can't afford potions/wands, let us know), and want to quest with people who play/think the same, look us up!
We don't care if your character is uber or gimp (my husband is the ubergimp, and he's still allowed to run with us), but we DO care about the player behind the character. If you can play smart, you're welcome to run with us!
Who to contact:
Morgulion or Romenion, Abradan, Isilmerel, or Fingol. Even though he *is* technically an officer, I highly recommend NOT contacting my husband.
Like many people, a small handful of friends and family who used to play PnP D&D (circa 1992) decided to give DDO a try when it went F2P.
Speak for yourself. '85-'86 for me. Ah, ye olde "Fiend Folio"...
As for myself, I'm very newb friendly (considering I'm mostly a newb as well compared to the vets...). I enjoy helping out newcomers with whatever meager wisdom I may have learned about the game to this point. I also don't mind handing down gear I've out-leveled (although my alts come first).
We all (especially myself being a married father of three) understand real life comes before gaming. Want a laid-back, no-drama guild? Look us up. Looking forward to hopefully meeting some cool new people to run with.

Sounds like the kind of guild I´ve been looking for. Unfortunately, as you may see, I´m from Europe, which doesn´t make it easy to find a guild with members playing at the same time as me.
My main characters are Lacci, a lvl 13 rogue (soon to be lvl14) and Oscon, a lvl 10 bard.
Both are sufficiently gimped to fit your needs I guess...
I´m F2P, but have bought most of the adventure packs up to Gianthold...
If you see me around, feel free to send me a tell, or I´ll contact one of you. I´d like to run a few quests with you guys and see how that works out...
...we sometimes play at unusual hours, my sister especially.
And, sometimes, I think Abradan actually lives in-game.
Hope to see you online. Having one European guildmate would hopefully attract more!

Reading through your guilds description it looks like a guild I would like to join, as such I have been looking out for the characters you list as to contact while I am in game and I am yet to be on when the listed characters are online. I am normally on weekday nights, between 7-10pm est, and on weekends I will be on generally be on anywhere from 7p-2a, of course those times are subject to my daughter and wife.
About myself, I have been playing D&D in some form since the old Red Box Basic rules through about 3.5 PnP, and have played various computer games from "Pools of Radience" through DDO currently. My primary character is a Dwarven Barbarian that is currently level 4, with enough experience to level to 5 (~1/2 way to 6th)
Hey EBE. Sorry, I've been running the egg hunt on lowbie alts on other servers. If you want, send me a PM with your character(s) name and I'll keep an eye out for you in-game.

Ello, I was once a vet (quit 3 1/2 years ago from lack of content) but now revert back being a newbi.
I was in a guild much like this one we would joke around while playing, lay back and like to explore the dungeons even if we ran it before we still like the art.
This is a guild I would like to join and about myself well my spelling is pretty bad, I am a f2p but I have bought all the content but some minor stuff like the drow ( even thou I have unlocked it from favor) monk and favored soul along with share bank stuff like that but I couldnt resist getting the warforged race.
EXP in mmo: I have played a large number of mmos out there in the market WoW, DDO, UO, FF, RS and much more however DDO always been my favorit but from the lack of content at the time I didnt think it was worth the $15 every month. What made me to come back was of 2 reasons.
1.Its free ( somewhat but buying content is better for the long run )
2. My GF loves D&D she plays PnP but people out here really don't play it so this is a good replacement
So far its mainly been my GF and I, she plays a barbarian elf ( untill she unlocks her drow ) and I play a paladin human ( I was the test dummy to find out where the traps are Q_Q ) hes mainly to solo dungeons and farm items for my lower toons hes level 9 my other 2 toons I enjoy playing are my level 5 rogue halfling and my level 3 barbarian warforged
I think I am ranting on so I'll leave it here ^_^ names I play are Darrowmere, Sengira and Felthar
We'd be happy to have you Drakcor! I'm having computer issues so will be offline for the next couple of days doing a re-format. Keep an eye out for Isilmerel or Abradan in game.

What a find. I think you created a guild exactly to what I have always wanted since I started pnp DnD back in the (coughs) late 80s (okay I started in 5th grade 1980 ;p).
I just started as a VIP member the other day because I decided I was tired of broken Warhammer PvP - and painfully horrible PVE some other horrid mmorpgs.
I'm brand new - forgive me - and havn't played ADnD almost since it was still DnD with pencil and paper sitting around at the College of Lake County (CLC Gamers) back in my youth.
Hopefully I'll have a chance to get to meet you all.
Okay, read the whole thread (do I get brownie points, tw?) and I'm very interested in meeting this group. No...really.
I was once a vet but left because I couldn't devote the time in relation to the money spent. Came back after it went to F2P. Don't have all the adventure packs yet, as I was getting them as needed, but happy to get whatever I need. Currently playing two characters mostly, a Lv5 hin rogue and Lv4 drow ranger. Both are probably horribly gimped, as my skill in numbers is non-existent. As is my spelling. However, I do enjoy capitals, periods, and commas.
What I'm really looking for is a group that likes to take the slow stroll through a quest. I, too, like the art. I enjoy the strategy of the game; figuring the smart way to beat something rather than just throwing as many tanks at it as possible and hope someone is still alive to grab the stones. Enjoy a little soft RP to make it fun, but not stringent about it.
I played DnD back in the day (yes, I remember the 80's quite fondly) and still love the immersive RP of NWN.
I play mostly evenings in EST when RL allows and usually a good chunk on Sat/Sun when spouse allows.
And yes, I'm a gamer chick. This is probably why I prefer to communicate via text instead of speak. Saves so many embarrassing looks.

Awesome! I'll keep a look out for you in game!

While I'm not looking for a guild, you guys sound like the kinda people I would enjoy questing with. If you see me online and are looking for a cleric (Lvl 15) or perhaps a backup healer (Mnk2/FvS8) you can look for me in game. My cleric is YohGee and my FvS is Kryzii. I'm fine with moving slow through a dungeon and trying to find all its little secrets with a group. Don't have to be "gogogo" all the time. If you take me into a quest I've run before I'll even happily keep my mouth shut and let others discover on their own.
If you've got any lowbies I've recently started a bard too. She's around level 7. Dudess. I can sometimes be on her even if it's just to sell things, but I do want to get her moving up in levels, and she's a little tougher to solo stuff with than my cleric or FvS.
Anyhow, I'll keep an eye out for your toons too, and send ya a tell if I see you guys on.
[Edit] - In fact, I think I'll throw a few names into my friends list, so I can look you guys up, too

You know most of us play sober most of the time, right? LOL (sorry, saw your guild, couldn't resist).

We have a bunch of lowbie alts. Quite a few in the 5-8 range. I've got a ranger/monk @ level 7 (banked xp for 8) that hasn't been played in a while. I'd be willing to hop on her to play meat shield for your bard. I also have a level 7 FvS that's been neglected just because lower levels go by painfully slow without blade barrier. That, and everyone makes fun of her hair.

Cool. I added your alts to my friends list, too. Will keep an eye out

That's okay, I'll still run with ya. Wait... as long as you don't expect *me* to be sober!

The levels have been flying by for my FvS, but she's got two levels of monk in her. Might find that those run out of usefulness pretty soon... we'll see.

Just wanted to say how awesome it has been watching our humble little guild grow, and to extend a welcome to all our new guildmates who have joined us over these last few months (yes, even you Fin ).
While I have not had the chance to group and quest with all of our new members, I'm eagerly looking forward to doing so in the near future (yes, even you Kain ).
Welcome to The Order gang!
