well it is a fantasy game. and i like my flying cat and owlbear. If you don't like them don't use them.

Owlbears are a classic iconic D&D creature - I dont see whats wrong with that? Or do you have a problem with beholders, gelatinous cubes, mind flayers, chromatic dragons, and rust monsters too?
While I don't have anything against flying cats and owlbears per se, I really would rather have a better costuming system and less bugs. And because I'm tired of people responding that different types of devs do different things, I will preempt with the reminder that more people who fix bugs and create systems can be hired instead of those who create pets.
for the owlbear, sience u r not complaining about its function, i dont see why someone to be so mad over their looks! its an owlbear. its a creature of DnD MM.
now, about teh flying cats.. so what? its a cosmetic pet, i dont care if its a flying cat, a brocolli, a baby lolth or Arlos.. if u dont like it, dont use it!

OwlBears are wildly icon to D&D. I was slightly disappointed when I found I couldn't shift my druid into an owbear (that would be SOOO cool).
The flying cats are just for flavor. "In the kingdom of cormer [IDK how to spell it] it is illegal to harm cats" - Elminster, The King's Forest. I must say, whoever is designing the cosmetic pets are really doing a good job; those things are CUTE.
That's not lag, it's just DDO trying to become turn-based again.
Feature wishlist: colour-coded HP bars; red/blue teams in raids; rez-timer in party menu

So what?
In the lore they aren't prolific little pets that follow people around doing tricks and nothing else useful.
They're Monsters to be feared and dispatched.
From the original Monster Manual:
"They are ravenous eaters, aggressive hunters, and evil tempered at all times."
The cutification of iconic D&D creatures isn't something to be applauded in a D&D game.
Flying cats are AWESOME!
Not sure about owlbears.... all I know is that they aren't scary. Despise their size, the hooting kinda breaks the tension.
You must have been born in a world void of magic....
If you have not noticed, pets bring Turbine money and are something people have been asking for.
Where was your "So what" for Kobolds, Earth Elementals, Dragons, Beholders, Iron Golems, Gelatinous Cubes, and every single other monster based pet we now have?
And how many of these pet do you own?
