Hello everyone,

I’m working on a project that may prove to be fun for those who enjoy creative writing. I’m looking for a few folks that are interested in contributing to Ravenguard Press as freelance journalists.

The premise behind this is that the Korranberg Chronicle, a famous publication based out of Zilargo, has gone through several years of financial hardships, and was forced to sell off several of its subsidiaries. The decision to sell one of its more “radical” investigative reporting units called “The Press”, was an easy one, as they had come under some extreme scrutiny after a series of reports on the alleged plot to dislodge the Silver Flame’s influence in Breland, by the King’s closest advisors. King Boranel ir'Wynarn was personally responsible for having the lead reporter for The Press, who operates under the pen name of CC Ravenguard, forcefully escorted to the front gates of Sharn, and not so eloquently asked to never return to the city, or for that matter, the nation of Breland under pain of death.

Hearing of the Chronicle’s financial hardships, Mr. Ravenguard offered to buy out the disgraced affiliate. After a couple hours of negotiations, Mr. Ravenguard secured the affiliate and a contract with House Orion for distribution for a meager undisclosed sum. This agreement was under the condition that he changes the name of the affiliate, so as not to show any affiliation to the Chronicle, or any of their past dealings.

Not being one to be dissuaded from the hard stories, CC decided to take his newspaper to the far shores of the continent of Xen’ Drik, where he would set up shop in the City of Stormreach. He had heard fantastic stories of adventure, chaos, corruption, intrigue, and the most evil plots imaginable. Yes, this was going to be his new place of operation, a place he would feel at home amidst the “den of thieves” and denizens political corruptions. Here he would cause much trouble, and make many a coin; a home truly deserving such a fine reporter such as himself.

Ravenguard Press is about coming up with stories in and around Stormreach. It doesn't have to be anything to do with existing story lines, or anything people would see if they are in game; it could be political, heart warming, anything you could come up with that might be interesting. Developing plots, murder mysteries, robbery, whatever you can come up with. I guess it's about bringing out the intrigue of everyday lives of Stormreach citizens. I personally love the Eberron Campaign Setting, so I like to try to bring other aspects of the different lands and how they interact. The Forgotten realms setting can have some pretty cool stories as well.

I can send you an email invite for the blog site if you like; otherwise I can post as CC Ravenguard (prefer others be independently involved), but it's your choice. I'd enjoy reading something you have written.

Thank you so very much for your warm welcome to this wondrous city. I have had many dealings with the Chronicle in the recent past, and frequently collaborate with the editorial staff. Having a keen insight into the inner workings of the organization, I was not aware of the implementation of extortion and veiled threats as a way for them to deal with competition. I am truly humbled by the attention, however, I must admit that it is not necessary. I am but a humble servant of the people, and only work to discover and uncover the truth of matters otherwise hidden from them.

With the knowledge that the Chronicle does not outwardly employ such harsh tactics to dissuade upstarts from making a living practicing their craft, my attention is forced to look in another direction to discover your motives, and the true source behind your efforts to extort payment for protection. Although I do applaud your vigor, I must implore you to stay your hand from any actions that would keep the truth from being revealed to those who would benefit. I would rather you come to me in secret, as there may be some other business arrangements we can discuss. I may have much need for innovative and motivated professionals such as you; those whom are somewhat less scrupulous on how they attain information.
