The Raven's Guard - New Player Outreach Event

The Raven’s Guard will be holding a small event on 9.12.2014 at 9:00 PM EDT. The focus behind the event is to help some newer folks by providing some basic items that will help them survive in the harsh environment of Stormreach. After all the base items are given away, we’ll put a few things up for roll that would be very beneficial to new folks. Oh, and a pool of over 1.5M Plat J (see below for details).

Before anyone asks… no, this is NOT a recruiting event. We will not badger you to join our guild, we just want to help some newer folks get a leg up in the game so they can enjoy all it has to offer.

Rules to participate in the event:

1. Must be first lifer
2. Must be newish to the game
3. Must be on Thelanis Server
4. Must be one of the first 11 to hit the LFM (group listing in the social panel) and accept ship invite. You have to be present (on the ship) to participate; no proxy or absentee participants will be accepted.
5. You must be able to accept any cash you win; for example, if you win the top prize of 1M Plat, you must be able to have that much in your bank. If not, then the prize will be passed to the next highest roller. For additional information on how much you are allowed to have, please consult the DDO Wiki HERE.
6. Everybody wins SOMETHING, nobody goes home empty handed.

As a bonus, we’ll have a roll off for a few rare collectibles, items, and plat

Are you accepting donations? My crafting isn't to the level of unbound Feather Falling shards, but I do have some Battle/Skirmish armors/docents, Battle/Darkwood shields, and various Flametouched blanks from the Chronoscope vendor.

Very kind of you to offer. If anyone wants to donate to the event, they can send to "MuleParts", which is the name of my crafter. Things that might be useful: low level augment crystals, spell power and type enhancements, weapons/equipment with color augment slots, etc. If what you send is not used in this event, the items may be deconstructed and crafted for future events. Thank you again for the offer to help!

Very nice idea, having participated in similar events when I was just starting out was fun and appreciated. Certainly good PR, I'll see if I have anything to donate.

I sent a quick note to each of the contributers in-game thanking them for their help, but also wanted to mention publicly how much it's appreciated.

Received some portable holes, lots and lots of augments, some color slotted armor, and a few other things. I think we should be all set at this point.

Only other help I could ask for is that if anyone knows some new folks that could benefit from this, please spread the word... This Friday, Thelanis Server, 9:00 PM Eastern, first 11 to hit the LFM.

It dawned on me that some new players can’t leave Korthos yet, so it would be a bit difficult for them to join us on our ship for the event. So instead of holding this event on our Airship, MuleAxe will be in Korthos village (sunny side) at 9:00 PM Eastern; make sure to look for the LFM.

Just to point out: You can leave Korthos at any point by talking to Valeria Sinderwind at the docks. You might do better to either move it back to your ship and be ready to give explanations on how to leave Korthos and directions to a guild portal (side benefit: Gives 'em several hours of guild buffs!), or hold it in the tavern (not sure if Sunny and Snowy can group up in the tavern or not, though I don't think so). IMHO, holding it on the island where you arrive from Korthos (with the lighthouse) would be an ideal location, being easy for anybody to get to.
