Pushing content is how they make money. If they went a year without a bunch of people buying expansions the game probably dry up as they can't pay employees.

My wife and I sub and I buy all the xpacs. I earn enough DDO points to get the coffers but on rare occasions will buy some. I was really unimpressed they hid a mount behind a huge paywall that one DDO points sale :( It not even that cool of a mount but I love to collect things.

You're not wrong and it can be fast if you know the drag and drop method vs. click and wait. I don't mind TtMD anymore as I've learned it. Heck I don't even mind Beautiful Nightmares really. It'll take a lot of time to get used to this new quest and not sure I'll ever truly "like" it.

I don't understand your response. The content is pretty great. Much better than Vecna Unleashed. One of the four DMs is highly recognizable. Graphics were great. Only one quest annoys everyone (because it shares a common denominator with Beautiful Nightmares and Through the Mirror Darkly)

That makes a lot of sense (adding in a third factor of difficulty into the equation). Again though, maybe they need to do an XP pass over quests. I love Von 3 and the XP it gives but I'd be willing to sacrifice it some if it meant better balance of XP throughout the leveling process.
