Pretty well. The single target damage feels very good, and the spell access is just enough to be useful. I'm not up on the meta so I don't know if Inquisitive crossbow is just better, but I didn't struggle with this build.

Yes, this is technically true. However, I'm not sure how good of a fit it really is for a Inquisitive. You only get a single shot, instead of multiple, and you lose animation time as well. I suspect it's still probably the best single button attack you can pick up outside of Inquisitive anyway...

What are the key pieces you're getting out of Ranger 9? It looks like the key pieces you're getting from Ranger are two bonus feats and Evasion. The spells and enhancements seem pretty replaceable by other options, yes?
