Who sets difficulty (DCs) on the dev team?

I've suggested something like a caster or fighter stat in the past that lowers miss chance by a percentage. A "turn missed attack into a hit" stat, that works on both attacks and spell saves. Then grant a nice little amount of it to everyone. It does absolutely nothing for people that were...

Who sets difficulty (DCs) on the dev team?

It's the real flaw with DCs, both spells and skills. The fact we roll D20s means the difference between haves and have-nots eventually becomes insurmountable. I wish this got converted to percentage-based with diminishing returns.

    The Storm Horns is beautiful.

Absolutely. My favorite song in all of DDO is the What Goes Up music. Orchestral, ramping up, and available absolutely nowhere else.

    Scorching Ray?

...I HAD noticed I was getting trounced, and hadn't figured this might be it.

Fun with wands - yay Tricksters!

Before the nerf I couldn't have a single Wizard life without carrying the Old Faithful, Cacophonic Verge. Nowadays, I barely touch the eternal wands anymore :( I suggested long ago that they just let wands scale with spell power - or that they make the mastery enhancements make them scale. No dice.

TIME FLIES LEVEL 36 CLOAKS DISAPPEARING IN BANK

As always, very pleased to learn those tiny tidbits of how DDO works in the background. Thanks for the insight. I'll take that as part of my 20th anniversary bonus any day :)

    Arti Dog auto raises you?

The best option available is having the dog run you to a shrine. It can totally carry your soulstone there though. The good doggo even knows how to open those nasty doors that auto-close near some shrines, just to be sure. Another nice thing is, even if the dog carries your soulstone, you're...

    The Level 30+ Auto-Jump

If I'm wrong, I'm sorry for potentially misleading. I thought that change had been made already. I know it was discussed though. Checked the wiki too, the wiki mentions a normal TR makes you lose all Heroic XP and doesn't mention Epic XP at all. https://ddowiki.com/page/reincarnation

    The Level 30+ Auto-Jump

You keep the experience you didn't spend TRing. This works with both Heroic and Epic reincarnations. A Heroic reincarnation spends a full Heroic XP bar. If you had any Epic XP in there when you rerolled, you keep it. An Epic reincarnation spends a full Epic XP bar. I suppose the future Legendary...

    Change Favoured Soul Class name

The same kind that puts an item and labels it "Definitely Cursed Tableware" in their dungeon. ...or the kind that carries said tableware in their gem bags for aeons without question.

    Change Favoured Soul Class name

All of the Archetypes (as well as most of the Enhancement Trees) are named after specific 3.5 Prestige Classes. The only exception is Alchemist. The closest equivalent to our dear poison-making, explosive-potion-throwing maniacs I know of only exist in Pathfinder, that is a completely different...

    Change Favoured Soul Class name

I agree with the general sentiment that most classes have a single word representing them perfectly, and that Favored Soul being the sole exception (unless you count Archetypes) is a bit off. But, also, this isn't SSG's property, and the license they have to publish is under the name the class...

So... no balance changes for U78?

This "fire-and-forget" kind of post is FAR better than what we've been having, a step in the right direction for sure. If it doesn't overly tax your team, can you consider doing this on the official forums slightly more often? Say, a few times per patch?

    Immunities and such.

The single most blatant example of immunity being a hindrance to game design was the changes to poison/disease immunities. Though when they did that, they didn't make the changes to mobs too, which almost feels unfair. Skeleton is immune to poison, Warforged is immune to poison. Skeleton takes...

    Pug Raiders - Let's talk

A few years back, NPC threat was increased a few billionfold. Part of the threat is calculated by how fragile each target looks, and how close they are. Oozes are fragile, and need to almost literally be inside their targets to hit them. Anything that resets threat (social skills can do that...

U78 Lammania Arcane Trickster Preview 2

The change to mage hands makes them SOO much smoother to use. Even if you go full physical, you get this neat button you press for extra oomph and sometimes a neat effect between attacks. As someone that still likes shooting my Runearm while doing other stuff, this is absolutely up my alley.

    Pug Raiders - Let's talk

If I ever join a raid (not that I do that often), I know a few things. 1. Listen to the leader. They either know the stuff, or we're ALL in trouble, especially me and people that rely on me knowing anything. 2. I do NOT fill any essential roles unless it's an easy role with well-defined things...

    Immunities and such.

The whole point behind immunity stripping is ALSO part of the fantasy. Flames so hot they can even burn a magma elemental down? Sounds about right. D&D 3.5 had this kind of fire, and even had multiple types of this kind of fire (though the kind that comes to me most easily is Hellfire) Also, be...

The failure that is Arcane Trickster

This is the second time I see this comparison, and it remains unfair. For one, the applicability of Presto surpasses Finger. Works on constructs and undead, at least. Also has no SR check. The DC is also ridiculously easier to get. This is more of a no-attack-roll, (working) Ranged version of...
