two things can be true. both are valid. skill can make up for lives and bling but lives and bling are huge in this game. Its just not possible to balance this game. I've seen it go from casters are too strong to melees are too strong and back again.

I solo'd my DC caster up to 34 with zero issues on R1. Not sure what you are talking about.

yeah, I had the same issue with that quest a couple months ago. kept having to go back and move him along but he's very reluctant to do so. it was definitely a PITA but completable. an unrelated issue or maybe not unrelated, lots of mobs just seem to stand around and let you beat them down now...

If grouping up is your thing, you probably wont like it. DDO does it much better. If you find yourself soloing mostly as I do (I probably haven't been in a group in 10 years or more), you will fit right in. Character creation is very good in BG3. Not sure how it is according to D&D 5. I hung up...

played BG1 and BG2 from beginning to end many many times. Same with Neverwinter. I haven't looked into BG3 yet but if its similar than its worth a go with me. Even if its best solo.
