Here are the release notes for Update 70 /64-bit Preview, posted on Wednesday, October 9th, 2024. These notes are not final, are incomplete, and will be updated over time.

Cormyr will open starting Thursday October 10th at 11am until 5:00pm Eastern (-4 GMT) on Friday, October 11th. Cormyr can be accessed via the Lamannia game launcher. Note that Lamannia itself will not be open for this preview.

Of Special Note:

Lanterns in the Mists Preview

A first look at the U70 "Lanterns in the Mists" event for Cormyr will be available for this preview. To learn about the event, visit our Lanterns in the Mists guide.

64-bit server test 2

The 64-bit server Cormyr will be available for another performance test. Note that Cormyr is accessed via the Lamannia game launcher. Learn more about our 64-bit server plans here . For this test, we encourage players to participate in the Lanterns in the Mists event and to play in Adventure Area landscapes. Other tips for this Cormyr test:
  • Patching your Lamannia client today will make your patch time Thursday a little shorter.
  • We have not wiped characters nor guilds from the previous Cormyr test. Any characters you copied or created last time are still there waiting for you! We are very interested to see you play these same characters again.
  • You will still be able to use character copy to bring more characters onto Cormyr, but any characters that you copied to Cormyr during last week's Stress test cannot be recopied/overwritten even if you remove them from Cormyr manually.
  • You can learn more about the Character Copy process here.
    • Reminder: characters have to be copied to Cormyr itself, copying to Lamannia does not automatically place the character on Cormyr.
Other U70 Release Notes:

The following changes will effect both the 64-bit and 32-bit game worlds with the release of U70
  • Framerate should no longer drop so dramatically in the multi-level encounter room of the Sword Crest passage of White Plume Mountain.
  • Adjustments have been made to some invisible dungeon monitors in the Shroud to improve performance, particularly at the end of Part 1. Gameplay mechanics of the Shroud have not been changed.
  • Reduced the VFX that activate when a creature becomes Frozen to help game performance.
  • Adjusted VFX that activate for Alchemist Bombardier's Burning Ambition to help game performance.
  • Mounts that aren't animals should no longer claim to be animals in their Mount type (Carpets aren't animals, who knew!)

Will there be a Lamania for 32-Bit U70 at some point? Or if this is no longer desirable can you speak to that please?

I am hoping for more similar fixes based on the improved info you get from the 64 bit envirronment. It does not help the fact that the current servers have been lagging badly, but it brings a ray of hope.

Update 70's "Lanterns in the Mist" event is only available on Cormyr. It won't be available on the 32-bit servers so there's no point in testing it on 32-bit.

This event is VIP only still, or did you guys change that? Either way, not interested in being a beta tester for free, let alone paying $10 US a month to do that. Good luck with it though Cordovan. I hope whoever participates in it has fun as well.

The other way to think about it is to go VIP for the 90 days the event is running and treat it as a Normal Hardcore season.

So I transfer one of my players, which will be a copy to Cormyr option thanks!!! It seems to imply or express 64 bit server has nothing to do with graphic improvements. Some realism with overhaul character creator would be appreciated.

That's $30. That's a lot of games on steam you can get on Black Friday deals which is coming soon. I already spent $40 on a pack that is awful:

Only if you need the full 90 days. Going slow for hardcore wouldn't be a bad idea but some of the rewards are probably similar to past hardcore where you just had to reach a certain level. So one month might be sufficient.

Games like Valheim go on sale from.$20 US to $12.67 US on steam even when it isn't Black Friday. Put games like it on your wishlist. There's over 1000 hours of games play on great game on steam. $12.99 for 1 month of game access while hoping you get the event done? $12.99 US to not only hope you can get the event done, but hoping a server is kept up and functioning properly:

Games like that just don't hold my attention for very long. I've played through the content available in Valheim twice both when it came out and when it was most recently updated. A friend helps but it quickly feels like a boring slog. Dark Souls and Elden Ring were fantastic but games like that are far and few between. I own a ton of games on Steam from sales. I've enjoyed less than 5%.

I'm a little behind the eight ball here. Just finding out about this 64 bit server Cormyr. Will that be the only 64 bit server? Will the other servers eventually be converted to 64 bit? Is that even possible?

I am a vip but most of the people I play with are not. I feel like I'd have to leave them behind if I wanted to see what the new server has to offer. And if its better, and for me better is no lag, then it'd be torture to play on the old servers. I guess what I'm getting at are what are the long term plans? Will it eventually be all inclusive or will it always be for vip's only?
