For some people, DDO is a game that they play and leave frequently. Nothing inherently wrong with that. I've done that too when I hit burnout, life got in the way, or something agitated me enough to take a break.8th past life and why I quit DDO(again)
"just about every other game" will require me to pay before I would be able to even download it.Compared to just about every other game.
Free-to-play titles make up an overwhelming majority of active online player bases and generate roughly 85% of total global gaming revenue. I guess if you are talking about single player games, which is a completely different world, then sure, those probably cost money to download them, but in the online world the norm is letting people play for free and then getting them to spend money to make things better."just about every other game" will require me to pay before I would be able to even download it.
I play DDO for free.
For the grind though, yeah. It's quite big.
The message I replied to did not specify the type of games.I guess if you are talking about single player games, which is a completely different world
Yeah, sure. Like SWtOR, for example, that still sells the additional action bars... And subscription. While being F2P.but in the online world the norm is letting people play for free and then getting them to spend money to make things better.
blah-blah-blah history lesson, blah-blah-blah-unnecessary...There is so much to buy in this game that selling the quests themselves is unnecessary and costs them a ton of customers because people leave early when they run out of content.
There is a massive pay wall.
There is a massive grind wall.
Both of those are significant problems for attracting and retaining new players.
Pretending that this is not true because you dont like the way the OP writes is just dumb.
What I love about this forum is that every second (if not the first) visitor CANNOT READ !Exactly this. I do love this forum.
The "new player" (yeah, 3 years of playing = "new" now, sure) wrote that he HAD ALREADY PAID.A new player points out how hard the game is for new players
DDO doesn't have end game. Only the endless cycle of reincarnations. In World of Warcraft in a couple of months I can be playing end game raids and mythics with the same power as people who have played for 20 years.

He spent $600 on the game ! There shouldn't be any problems with XP, even in theory.
Either the OP can't read either and didn't know what he was buying (and, as a result, bought the wrong thing). Or he doesn't understand the game.
But in response to all questions and advice, he only swears and even earned a ban for it.
But the people who "got all their lives 10 years ago" are to blame for everything. That's right.
DDO doesn't have end game. Only the endless cycle of reincarnations.
WoW and WoW-like games realities do not apply here.
And in the neighboring threads, people complain that most people play exclusively at levels 1-20, and therefore the developers are forced to release Heroic/X expansions instead of Epic/Legendary.Id say up to half of people spend their time at cap.
More often than not, people give helpful advice. The forum fanatics revel in driving away new people who dare to post their criticisms of the game.
It's my 16 year. I have 1 main that I slowly play reincarnating in Sorc-Wizard-Sorc-Wizard-Sorc-Wizard-Drud-Sorc-Druid-Warlock-Drud-Sorc-Druid-Warlock-Drud-Sorc-Druid-Warlock-Alchemist-Drud-Sorc-Druid-etc. cycle.Ive been playing for 15 years and still have 40 or 50 lives to get. Possibly more, since I havent ever counted how many archetype lives there are.
You , well maybe not "you", can play this game for free and have fun. "You" act like you are competing against people in a game that "you can't win". Even if you buy that red button. There is a massive pay wall.

Who to believe ? That's right, no one !
None of the players know what it's really like.

I don't know and most importantly do not care about "how many PLs the game has" and I have as much as 0 plans to get them all.
All this whining about how "people have 200+ PLs" is a completely imaginary problem.
How come people don't pray to these PLs, as if without them there is nothing in the game at all.
And, again, the OP has problems with GETTING EXPERIENCE, and not with the fact that he doesn't have PLs ! Problems with experience after spending money on content ! PLs has nothing to do with it.
This doesn't interfere with playing in any way.The power imbalance is not imaginary. Its absolutely enormous. Anyone who says otherwise either doesnt know the game is just straight up lying.
Why do you care if someone is more powerful than you? This is not a competition. You either like this GAME or you don't, stop comparing yourself to other players. The power imbalance is not imaginary. Why do you concern yourself with that they do? There are plenty of reasons to care about what other players are doing. Stop telling people what they should or shouldn't care about. You're unlikely to improve much unless you have something to compare it to.Why do you care if someone is more powerful than you? This is not a competition. lol. Wrong.DDO doesn't have end game. Only the endless cycle of reincarnations.

Yes, I don't understand why he spent $600 and is still missing most of the content. That is difficult to do. He's been around long enough I assume he got the free quest code and that alone is enough to never need to repeat a quest, so something about his story doesn't add up.The message I replied to did not specify the type of games.
Yeah, sure. Like SWtOR, for example, that still sells the additional action bars... And subscription. While being F2P.Too bad that F2P covers something like 1/8 of the game.
(At least that game is a LOT cheaper compared to DDO.)
blah-blah-blah history lesson, blah-blah-blah-unnecessary...
Who cares if you CAN get the content for free anyway ?It's completely possible.
And, most importantly, how does all this relate to what OP writes ? They claim they've spent $600 on DDO. ($1200 for 2 accounts.) All the "it's unnecessary" stuff doesn't apply to him, he's already paid.![]()
Sounds like fun. Let's do it !I guess we could all just spend all our time playing the game running around naked and level 1.
We all know, you are wrong.lol. Wrong.
I just didn't want to get distracted by discussing this, since it's all irrelevant to this topic. What you classify as blah-blah-blah history lesson is why the game loses players almost as quickly as they come
That is exactly what you are doing....Stop telling people what they should or shouldn't care about. You're unlikely to improve much unless you have something to compare it to.
