I think my biggest memory of DDO was starting right after F2P, and learning about DnD and its mechanics as a 14 year old. That was incredible to me, and discovering my level 10 fighter with a premade path sucked.

And running shroud, making the first GS tier 3, ToD, so on.

I started DDO with a 1 month free Warforged 2008, could not hit a ladder and was crawling phone connections from hotels across canada. Far from Pentium 4 we are today :) My favorite thing the animations playing full graphics maxed and sound eax. lots fun

For me, it wasn’t one specific moment or event, it was the day the light bulb finally clicked on.

The moment I truly understood True Reincarnation, the depth of that system and others, and just how absurdly deep DDO really is. Suddenly the game went from “I’ve played this before” to “Oh… I’ve barely scratched the surface.” It hit me how much there was to do, how many paths there were to explore, and how much I still haven’t experienced, even after playing on and off for over a decade.

That realization alone turned DDO from a game I enjoyed into a world I started taking notes to include a to-do list! Every time I think I’ve seen it all, it politely reminds me that I absolutely have not.

Thanks for building a game where mastery is optional, confusion is guaranteed, and enlightenment usually arrives three lives late. A game that rewards curiosity, patience, and the occasional “wait… WHAT?” moment.

Those memories are many and many more to come! Cheers

I gotta say, I'm a little worry about the lack of new content, its feels like we are getting less and less quests per year, we should at least get an update on older content for Q4. and maybe start thinking in ways to create random generated dungeons for endagame to keep players entertrained. specially considering that we are raising the level cap this year, there should be more content at that level to keep pushing ppl.
Another thing, I think devs should start working on better end quest bosses, most of them feel the same, I would love to see them use more abilities spells and for players to start using different tactics to aproach them, like the ones we got in Illitih content, plz bring back those mechanics and build from there PLZ!!!

From watching a "New free to play mmo to try out!" youtube video that got me interested (showcasing the Storehouse's Secret lol), to falling in love with my first raid experience in Tempest's Spine, to feeling anxious as a wizard walking around in endgame shavarath... This game is great and despite difficulties and design changes, it remains great.

SO excited for the new archetype, I've loved AT in d&d for as long as I've known about it. Great path laid out, looking forward to seeing it all come to fruition!

I have very fond nostalgic memories of this game. For those that know me personally they know the reason, however some very fond memories that stick out was the intro cutscene alongside the huge build up to the Stormreaver and Devil Invasion. :)

My biggest memory of DDO was my first login actually. My brother acted as my guide in Stormreach (which made a huge difference).
I kinda felt like a lost toddler in Disneyland at first. It felt big and I really didn't know where to start. I was just happy to not pancake in the Harbor before getting a featherfall item. 😁

The first character I created was a Female Rogue halfling. She is still my primary character and is going through another life (one of many...) She is currently on Shadowdale as a gnome/artificer.
Many of the initial toons that I create on other worlds are an homage in some way to this mini-murder-hobo. My guild is appropriately named... Anklebiters Anonymous in her honor.. 🥰

Looking forward to what is to come! Wish there would have been some more news on 64-64 transfers and other potential updates. Hopefully there will more stuff to come...

That Anniversary quest (challenge?) sounds pretty cool like doing the 'greatest' hits, should be a great way to fill in some of those missing slots in the Monster Manuals.

It all started when I couldn’t shoot my traditional longbow at the rage due to Covid. All the ranges were closed and I really missed target practice. Someone I knew said “I know a place where you can shoot longbow 24/7”. That was it for me—I’ve been enamored with DDO ever since and gone on to find a place of friendship, generosity and adventure. I had never played an MMO before and it sort of blew my mind. In the middle of a terrible time was an oasis of people who could connect and have a great time together when none of us could be together otherwise. DDO is a marvelous community and I am grateful to have been a part of it. Thank you everyone for making this game the amazing place it is! Now let’s go get some monsters, smash some furniture and loot those chests!

Watching Morgan Webb, on X-Play, on Spike/G4 review the NEW Dungeons & Dragons MMO back in 2006. She was laughing at the character creation screen, contrasting the looks of Male Warforged versus Female Warforged. It was hilarious! I called my best friend right then and we made a pilgrimage to walmart and found Stormreach on the shelf. I have been playing ever since that day in August 2006.
