Kobold race w/ Kobold voice acting (already done) and sound effects please.

But again, cool things like this are just too cool for it to happen.

And lots of people who don't, and since events usually don't run on HC, that means you're splitting your players between two competing events.
Players who don't play HC won't miss HC. Not sure what your point is there. As for splitting the players, events and HC don't have to run at the same time.

I'm trying to tamp down my inner cynic right now, but I'm hopeful based on this letter. I'm not a HC player for the most part, but I know there will be quite a few people that will be upset with this news. That being said, I hope this means that there will more focus on DDO's core. I"m glad to see that something (hopefully soon) will be done to address VIP player concerns (I did decide to go VIP and I'm okay with where it currently stands for the most part). I think the roadmap looks awesome though and I'm super excited to see what's ahead! ?

If the ED balance pass goes like the other recent balance work, where you do a bunch of small tweaks to things each update; that could be nice. I have enjoyed/liked the recent class tree work that's been done as of late. Less hammer, more lots of small adjustments done regularly.

Very dissapointed that there will be no Hardcore season in 2024. Would have liked a replay of HC6 if not a new one.

Meh, this doesn't mean much when you guys don't follow through on past promises. VIP upgrades were supposed to come last year, but now are pushed back to "looking into VIP upgrades" this year once again. Where are the monster manual fixes that were promised last year and then simply never happened? Where's the Droamm raid that was supposed to release last year? The hireling fixes that were in patch notes as being implemented but apparently never were because they are as broken as ever? Seems like a lot of the stuff you say is just to make players happy, while silently waiting on the back end until people forget about what you told us would come

Literally everything on the roadmap from last year's producer letter was delivered.

The VIP upgrades were shelved because they were unpopular. We'll see if this new attempt is better. For the rest, I'm not sure what you are referring to. There were multiple MM corrections (and a new chapter) released last year. This is the first suggestion I've even heard of a Droamm raid (they DID promise an update to an existing raid and updates to the Droamm quests... both of which were delivered). As for hirelings, I remember some minor corrections to the new wererat and how things like augmented summoning work, but no major changes having been announced.

Great letter, but you forgot to mention when Legendary Twilight Forge will be out. I'm sure that was just an oversight... right? :)

How did any employee think players wanted an illithid event? Half the people didn't care or participate. I actively hoped to avoid anything illithid while playing during the event. But Hardcore sees huge numbers of players joining in. Dozens of groups, daily, spread across all levels. I think I saw 5 illithid groups during the event over the course of a week.
It brought me back to the game, just seeing that there was some kind of live event going on. Mind you, it wasn't what I was hoping, but I'm back in playing and spending money on the game. (I heard live event and was thinking of when the marketplace tent exploded, or when devs would pop in and spawn weird monsters for us.)

Or it can go the other way and the top 3 get hammered lets hope not

Again super excited, but just a clerical matter. I recall we all voted on Planescape? (or was it a vote? memory of 2023 is fuzzy..probably for good reason lol) And wasn't something confirmed regarding Planescape or was this all wishful thinking. (Myth Drannor is equally cool. Just trying to remember correctly).

And some background info on Mythic Drannor, not sure what timeframe we will be adventuring in, assuming the modern age post time of troubles.

Kobold shaman as a sorc archetype :devilish:
Will never happen, they never match archetypes and iconics for what will work for well.

They view it as flavor (ie: get your credit card and buy a lesser +1 heart). We might one day get our Kobold race, but if there is an iconic counterpart to it we will get something like artificer tied to it.

and yet...I would absolutely play a Kobold Artificer. Bonus points if we can use our Iron Defenders as a mount and a full charged rune arm shot has an over-the-top animation that looks like we're about to fall over from the recoil ?
