A new kind of heroic reincarnation!

It would be cool if there was a heroic reincarnation similar to epic reincarnation.
Meaning that your quest list/favor/inventory doesn't reset.
As your quest list didn't reset, I'm guessing 2 TRs like that works be the limit before XP would turn tough to gain. But it would reduce significantly the cache requirements.
Hmm iconic should be excluded from this.
In case it wasn't clear this mainly helps with the cache.

How many items do you have in the cache?

I have a feeling the time goes up much faster than expected because with 140 items its just a few minutes for me and not really a drag. I always empty my cache right after I tr rather than leave it there during the life if that matters

I leave until the end usually... And it is mainly btc stuff. Some raid some normal. So I eat some I keep as mementos. Some I keep in case I do xyz

i've found that, when emptying my tr cache, if i sort by weapons only and take them out, then sort by armor, sort by gloves etc. instead of trying to load all 180 items at once; the delay in emptying the cache is much much lower

Your suggestion feels like a bandaid to get around a problem, rather than solving the actual problem.

Giving up 500+ DDO points from favor per life wouldn't do it for me.

Just make the cache better or give an option box to not put gear into the cache (as long as one has more inventory/bank space for it all).

This is really a non-issue, the cache takes only 5-10 mins to empty and the fewer items left the faster it gets, on the other hand running 1-20 without max delving bonus will lose you significantly more time in extra quests + loss of favor awards / ddo points

Let’s not ask devs to spend time on something like this that would be counterproductive when their time can be spent on fixing real issues/getting new stuff done

Just hoard less crap. (y)
Tell that to SSG who keep making crafting recipes with old crap items.

Anyway, TR cache is better on the new servers, but with 220+ items, it still takes a while. TRing, putting feats, items and so on where I want them on the hotbars, emptying TR cache. Using xp stones if not iconic, taking levels. Using AP, possibly reaper points. Takes about an hour for me, personally. But obviously not all of that is emptying the TR cache.

Or they could simply change how the cache works. One thing they could do is create a dedicated tab in the character bank that contains only the temporary storage granted by favor, meaning that no other items but those within that tab need be moved to the reincarnation cache each life. Another possibility is limiting the total storage space of custom bank tabs to the permanent storage space, which would allow their contents to persist through reincarnation; only the default tab would have access to temporary slots and require caching.

As far as inventory is concerned, caching only the items in temporary slots and deprecating carrying capacity would be sufficient.

The absolute easiest solution would be to make all temporary favor storage permanent, but heaven forbid...

Reduce the TR cache to: Favor earned space, equipped items.
Or even simpler: Reduce TR cache to: equipped items + inventory (yes more items but manageable).
Items in bank that overflow can go to withdraw only mode.

The TR cache is not so much about the favor items as it is for the equipped and pet equipped items.

About favor loss: I disagree, you won't lose favor with good planning, the opposite! There is plenty heroic content to do 2 TRs like there is for ERs this would allow you to gather more favor without wasting XP. Currently I play a lot of heroic quests only for favor as favor clearance. I can easily do 2 ERs without repeating anything (maybe adding some slayers in the mix) and get all epic content completed to elite+. That is if you obsessively try to max out your favor you can earn now in parallel XP thus an extra TR.
Yes, I guess most of you don't run all quests... I'm also still in the process of getting to run all of them but I personally play with that intention.

I do believe that TR cache needs improvement, @rabidfox yes this suggestion is a bandaid and it would work for every other TR otherwise you lose favor/ddos.
@Waaaaaar the real ask, which is not from me but a bigger part of the community is too improve the TR cache. Even keeping the bank intact on overflow it would work out.

What if we do this and get a special currency as a reward and can spend it on special essence crafting shards that can not be crafted and must be obtained through a shop that only accepts that currency?

They could also sell item blanks with unique materials and features such as sun and moon augment slots and sentient compatible weapon blanks.

The Devs could even release new shards to sell in this shop every update that offers new quests.

Im all for optimizing the TR “experience” - but I prefer brain surgery over bandaids for example a checkmark system to move gear from TR cache “move selected items to inventory” and a “move all” to character bank, a UI feature to save inventory layout, epic/iconic/class and chosen feats as well as layout of spells, attacks, clickers and abilities etc - automate this process so when you run your build you can just run a UI script to set it all up - if you don’t have certain feats or abilities available just leave the designated slots empty (that way you can just run the same script over and over as you level up and get the feats and stuff)

It might still take some time but I can at least watch silly YouTube shorts and have a coffee instead of sitting dragging and lagging

The fix to avoid xp loss while favor maxing would be to remove TR timers which in any case makes little sense to me, you can’t buy TR timer bypass separately so it’s not that they want you to spend dough (surprisingly) no you have to buy a box so what purpose does TR timer serve other than penalize people willing to grind it out binge style in periods of time when they can set aside time for it - with no TR timer and automated functions for bank management and recreating your base toon layout, TRs would suddenly not be such a drag (running on same platform for say racial lives would be extremely smooth) and you can continuously run for xp and favor plus everybody would be happier, players because less time wasting, developers because they solved one of the biggest 1st world problems, Cordovan because bards would praise SSG with hymns and tales of grandeur…

Lag would increase as people from near and far heard about the improvements and servers would get filled so we might have to migrate directly to 256 bit servers… but player base and thereby earnings would balloon !!!

*poooof* awake again and back in the real world…

they just need to make it so character bank stuff just stays in the character bank instead of going into the reincarnation cashe, and only items equipped/in inventory go into the cashe
Or even keep inventory in inventory except for overflow due to not enough spaces after TR, equipped items at overlevels slowing you down until removed (like ETR)

that would work nicely, Ignition, but one caveat would be required

because of house k favor being reset upon tr, the character bank may overflow

if that overflow was also placed in the cache, then i think your idea would be an elegant and wonderful quality-of-life solution

another simple solution, house k favor rewards and coin lord favor rewards made permanent once you acquire them but also bank overflow doesn't really do much if you got more in the bank than the bank can hold it stays there and you just cant put more into the bank till either 1) you remove stuff in the bank till you got room or 2) you upgrade the bank capacity till you got room

Something I think should be looked at is simply allowing a person to go to 30 (or more) and do an Epic + Hero/Racial for non-iconic characters. This would reduce the time it currently takes to rebuild back to 20 just to do the reincarnation step again.
