A quick update.

Doubtful, they aren't really doing anything different than hitting a button available in game (but hitting it like a rat getting its cocaine fix in the lab (or the person trying to recall from a bad dungeon instance before their XP pot runs out)).
Release notes next patch: "Interacting with in-game buttons has been disabled as part of our on-going efforts to improve game performance".

Yes, tree position is the number one issue in the community. Everyone is talking about it. Yesterday, I spent three hours with another player arguing about tree placement. It was fascinating. We were all doing the same thing, arguing about trees...
I hope you understand that it is sarcasm.

The next expansion will be The TED talks of Sharn. Each quest is 32 minutes, you enter and one of numerous guest speakers entertain you for that time frame (red wizard dude, spinner of yarns, Vaunt himself (undead Vaunt (spoilers)), the Platinum blonde concord guy, etc etc). At a random interval every 1-5 minutes a puzzle will pop up that is required to be solved to show you are still listening/watching. The puzzles are not guaranteed to be lag free and you may not be able to complete them before the time allotted to solve them runs out. This will result in a dungeon failure and require starting the entire chain over. $149.99, but includes 10 additional bank spaces.

I feel like SSG is generally very generous with their gifts to the playerbase, but I want to offer a suggestion from another game.

In this other game, when there is significant downtime either via server maintenance or persistent gameplay issues such as the lag we're experiencing, they would give some form of compensation to the players. This would take the form of various in-game resources as an essentially "we're sorry you're experiencing this, here's something to try to make it up to you".

Those gifts always made me as a player feel better and it helped mitigate the feeling of 'missing out on progress' due to the game not functioning. I don't know the exact form this would look in DDO, but for example, I know I've been in groups crippled by lag with people upset that their experience elixirs were running. Like a coupon code for some extra experience elixirs would definitely make those players feel less frustrated by the situation.

Now I say all that knowing we just got a free coupon code with experience elixirs in it (which like I said, I do feel SSG is generous in this regard), but I think if they tie codes specific for server/gameplay issues, it would assuage at least some of the frustration. I'm not offering this suggestion because I even really want free stuff, but just I know how this tactic made me feel in a different gaming environment and it definitely helped player/developer relations.

.....

And because we have no clue this is going on while playing the game, we continue to go clickerdyclickerdyclick.
All those dead clicks still get send to the server.
.....

Yep, guilty as charged.

Tho mine sounds more tappitytappitytap on the jumping space bar. The chicken-lag-jump-dance keeps me entertained while there's nothing else to do.

Edit: Managed to nab a couple screenies of looking down from the ceiling during lag-ceiling-bouncing. Was gonna add one here, but they all turned out as my character still standing on the floor. I haz a disappoint.

It's all about Feng Shui. Bad Feng Shui equals lag

This has been in the works for quite some time, but they actually started with collectibles. Remember those all faux collectible bags in Search and Rescue?

Was in crucible last night lagged up in the maze - kept ending up way high above the top part thinking I could manage to land on it and skip a big portion... but just kept ending up back on the ground.

For those that don't know, killed mobs just go transparent and unable to interact with, however they continue to follow you and try to interact (read: fighting) with player characters.
That is spooky! Playing will never be the same for me again

This.

I mean, I'm looking forward to (but withholding judging on until I see them) perfomance fixes. And yes, since performance hits just about everyone, it should go first. But after well over a month, some kind of update on time frame/plan for those stuck in limbo would not be too much to ask, I think.
They have already forecasted the loss of those players canceling their sub and never coming back. The found it to be an acceptable level of loss and this is why they have dedicated zero time for CSR or any human to reach out to those users and fix their issues. Its called attrition.

To prove me wrong we would just need one example of a character stuck in limbo who was contacted by a human emloyee, had their issue fixed and is now able to play.

We can see some trees in the air in some wilderness areas.
I was wondering what was the story of these trees, but since some update few months ago, I am wondering what is the story of disappearing rugs and other flat elements too!

And the ongoing spread of empty treasure bags. Can't forget about that.

As some too early to say, but some indication -type information:

So far, R1 PN and LH Threats with full raid groups completely lagless on Thrane - while it is early to say obviously and things are usually better right after restart and progressively deteriorate, so far so good. The lagless Threats was something I hadn't experienced before. No end of quest lag either, and people didn't explode multiple times when dragon died.

Heres to hoping nothings gonna spiral out of control in the next couple hours or on the weekend, but early signs are promising.

That's completely normal after server restarts. Give it a few hours / into tomorrow, and we'll see how it holds up under a sustained load.

Valid points, but at the end of the day - if I pay for a car and the thing wont start because the engine is misfiring for whatever reason and I take it to a mechanic to have them try and fix it and its there for several years and they just keep giving me "free gifts and attaboys" im gonna wonder "well this is fine and good and all... but when do I get my car back?".

So I think I can speak for pretty much all players when I ask: "when do we get our game back?"

Koopins are good and all but we really just want the thing to work.
If you were a DoD contractor and had this great new invention but kept stringing them (the DoD) along about how "one day we will make it work, we promise!" - they are eventually just gonna call it a loss and move on to something else.
