Absolute minimum level

Hello everyone!

I am level 16 and looted an item that says level 19, but has an absolute minimum level of 16. Why can't I equip the item? I checked on the wiki but it didn't help me at all.

Did you put an augment on the item? Absolute minimum level is tied to the level requirement of augments on items. The effective minimum level of an item is the lowest of the item itself and the minimum level requirement of any augments on it.

Is that item a craftable rune arm ? In that case absolute minimum level is the level it will have when deconstructed.

Anyway, you normally never can equip an item that is over your level.

Or your looking at crafting info, where if you blank the item you weren't supposed to be able to craft it for lower levels (because of some initate property like material type of the item).

If the item says level 19 and the character is level 16 then the character cannot equip the item.

The Absolute Minimum Level information is only for Cannith Crafting when the crafter disjuncts the item.

I found some plane forged armor a while ago when I first got into crafting. I was hoping to deconstruct and then make it min level 10. I was hoping to get that 24 ac bonus into level 10 armor, feating the game and earring my ribbon. Little did I know that was not possible as there are some gear items that still have min levels hardcoded. Some more details for the item that you are struggling with might the community figure out what the issue is.

Many (likely most except for OLD quests) Armor/docent/shield random loot are tiered based off the name (skirmish, celestial,battle,planeforged,etc.) Armor Tiers, Shield Tiers. The item may be ML 19 because of enchantments but may have an AML of 16 if it has Spiritcraft or Mountain in the name.

Long ago you could were planeforged armor of invulnerability at lvl2. It took them like 10 years to fix that bug.

This is most common on armor. Armors of certain material types have an absolute minimum level. The absolute minimums are levels 4, 10, 16, and 22. For the most part you can ignore the absolute minimum number as whatever the other number given is will be higher than the absolute minimum. It is really only relevant if you plan on making a crafting blank with that item (in which case you need to know you cannot craft something of a lower level than the absolute minimum).
