ADQ1

Today while trying to solo ADQ1 in the early morning before starting my day, I auto ran off one of the bridges and landed in the lava. I did not immediately /stuck because I thought I remembered a portal being down that would teleport you back to the top.... I was wrong. So, by the time I swam a full lap around the lava to find no portal, I tried the /stuck, but I was down there so long, it just ported me to the other side of the lava I was already at. ADQ2 DOES have a portal on the bottom to move you back to the top, can we add this feature to ADQ1 just to be safe too?

That would be a good addition.

Currently the one other way I know of is to use Dimension Door. Which can require another party member to FF down and time casting so you both port out. Which is not a solo option

When it was just needed for flagging for raid and xp was not an issue (or Epic/Reaper lockouts were not a applicable) recall and reenter was used in a pinch.

Sadly I was playing on a tank cleric so no dd. I was on the 5th sword so I had some time invested, which made it more annoying. I just wonder why they would add it to one quest and not the other. Maybe add a barrier to prevent that from happening? I know it was my fault for trusting the auto run, but it was just annoying to have to redo.

Or ya know carry a few DD scrolls for such occasions. And not just for griefing the others in the raid....although it is a worthy endevour when properly executed. Chrono is a prefect place for their application. Anyways pretty sure a cleric tank should be able to throw DD from scroll. As for if you are solo...jump casting a scroll is tricky but can be done....have had to do it in Madstone due to lagging off the first seer and no way out. Jump for the win!

some of us don't have time to repeat a quest just because lag dropped us in lava (happened to me 2 times).
some DDO players have, LE GASP, lives and responsibilities and play DDO to relax, not for some stupid "hardcore stuff"

If you want challenge, noone forces you to take "easy way out".

Hardcore existed years before HC season 1, it was called "self imposed challenge", if you think ADQ lava drop should have consequences, you're free to take them, I don't want to waste my time just becasue SSG thinks investing in decent servers is "fiscally irresponsible"
The problem is this thread is about self-admitted PLAYER ERROR not Lag.

nitpicking, are we?

still means there should not be lockout because you fell down, number of quests have places you "fall down" and can get back to completing it without some shenanigans

Shockingly enough I play this game to relax and do you know what isn't fun, relaxing or remotely entertaining? Never having to fail and face consequences. This isn't "hardcore stuff", it is basic game design. If I am playing baseball and the other team scores because I made an error then I don't get to redo the play because I think it is unfair. You sound like the kind of person who uses bumpers when bowling as an adult.

As for your "hardcore" comment, I didn't suggest that OP has to reroll a new toon from scratch. He gets to resurrect at his chosen bind point and start again. This is more "softcore" because DDO likes to think it is a PG-13 game. Plus you use "quotation marks" far too much in this "post" and it makes your meaning "ambiguous". Is SSG "fiscally irresponsible" or "not"? I can't "tell" your "meaning".

And finally, stop bringing out the tired old straw man of "lag". The OP ran off the ledge because they weren't paying attention.

I don't like those either. There should be some "game over" moments when you screw up. And no, it isn't nitpicking when Buddha5440 informed you that the OP died because of player error and you tried to blame it on lag. Reading is tough, I know.

while I feel for the OP...there's not railings and safety nets in every dungeon

every player has as some point fell in Lava and suffered an untimely death or two

chalk it up to It Happens. Keeping a good attitude, even when things stink, makes life and gaming more fun

Enough safety nets have been added in the Harbor and Kundarak. If you've been playing long enough, you know what I mean.
Bet OP will never lava dive again ? When all else fails, recall and start again, lesson learned.

till next lag, I dived TWICE because of lag, but noticing that requires some reading since I mentioned it already, but OP wasn't paying attention so you ignore my experience.

last night PN run had entire raid teleporting around more than Zulkis, that would've been "fun" in ADQ, but you don't care, you didn't experience lag caused throwback so noone did, by that logic I should attack anyone who argued that belly of the Beast is bugged since in dozens of runs I never had any issues, but you know what? I BELIEVE people who said they had it bug out, since I'm not selfish 1337 player who enjoys others misfortune.
