After they fix the lag.

There are many things I wish SSG would consider to make game play more enjoyable.
However, none of the following things I post should come before DDO's largest problem.
LAG. Fix (or greatly reduce it) first.

I would like SSG to review some of the game play choices they made years ago to see if they
are still a good idea now.

No rogue hirelings for plat until endgame.
So many classes can now trap, that there is no point in restricting this anymore.

10 levels of Reaper ..... really? That is ridiculous.

Material drops for skills nobody uses anymore 'first aid kits' ?

The inability to create spell scrolls in crafting. (just make them bind to account)

There are a ton more things, but this will do.
am sure others can add to the list.

Will restate for those who don't actually read whole posts ...
YES...YES...YES fix lag First !

The People's Champion
Post-lag my list (in no particular order):
Mob/hire pathing so they don't stand around while stuck. (today's update hopefully had some effect on that with the hire pathing work)
Ranged attacks that dry fire and vanish into the void.
Spells/other abilities that dry fire and go poof.
Various abilities/spells/gear that have been bugged for ages, some of them for many many many years.

Proper player housing, with a rust-like base builder & raid defense.

Roleplayer stuff, fishing, animal handling, cooking, survival skills.

More incursion events, but designed so that everyone can participate, instead of whoever is online for the first hour.

Multi-stage raid, unlocking loads of exisiting world secret areas.

OP - I like your optimism with the *After*

Lets talk again *if* that happens - but for now none of your items are even close to my 20 top wishlist.

Deliberately obtuse
  • Scalable UI
  • Fix the long standing gameplay bugs with items and abilities such as star rubies not working or weapon effects breaking themselves (glass shards) and magic fang for shifters.
  • Improve the enlightened spirit tree so it's a true melee warlock not just a relatively tough guy with a damage aura
  • Some sort of reaper pass to make it less dreadful a system to be involved in if you're new
  • More epic/legendary verions of "classic" DDO content. Let us do Waterworks at level 24 while doing epic lives.
  • Fix the level 18 enlightened spirit core so it's not a major form because there are now two different flavours of warlock that cannot use it.
  • Fix the half dozen or so toggleable abilities that STILL don't stay on between logins despite having a pass to fix them (including a new one?!)
  • Improve destiny support for Warlocks and casters using alignment spellpower
  • Fix the fact they added an undead race but 90% of abilities in the game give "positive healing" or "positive healing amp"
  • An enhancement pass on older races/class trees, especially older iconics. Morninglord is the worst tree in the game.

Those last 5 are just signs that nobody involved is actually thinking about how stuff they add to the game interacts with other stuff already in the game AND how much of the older stuff is just utterly neglected. There's a bit too much of DDO's "oo look at the new shiny thing" that seems to forget that there's another decade + of game there that has to interact with it/live with it.

1) What more you want besides 20% hp bonus, full BAB and 10mp/rp?
2) You are not obliged to take/use it. You are also not entitled to demand it be working despite your contradicting feat choices.
3) There are plenty EDs suitable for warlocks. Exalted Angel for alignment specifically.
4) Being undead has downsides.
5) Devs do work on modernizing stuff from time to time, just dont expect them to fix everything at once every so often. Their resources are limited.

1. 10 MP is not a right lot compared to other melee trees which also get 25% HP in their tier 5 enhancements and already often have full BAB, while the aura blast does bolster the damage it then also splits your priorities between spell power and melee power, further diluting your options for melee power, other melees also often have multiple trees where they can pick up some more cheap melee power.
2. Abyss warlock also has a major form, that's not really even a "feat choice". You do HAVE to take that level 18 core to even get the above mentioned 20% HP. This also affects the literally brand new iconic which has to choose to lose a major feature of its racial tree to get access to this enhancement. I'd settle for it remaining a major form but part of what the form grants being passive instead of requiring the form to be on I suppose.
3. Most of them don't work with blasts, Exalted angel particularly doesn't, so you're taking it purely for alignment spell power
4. So does being warforged but repair amp is easier to get than negative amp and it doesn't cost £32 to play a warforged.
5. I know, but this is a WISHLIST thread, my wishlist includes them modernising more stuff at a faster rate. In all honestly I'd like a moratorium on new content/races/classes until they fix the really neglected stuff. The game has enough classes/races/quests for now.

1) 25% is reserved for pure melee classes, Warlock is not pure melee. Also don't forget that Arcane Warrior with aura ticking every 2 seconds is basically +20 mp.
2) there are lots of situations where you have to take useless enhancements in order to qualify for useful ones. This is one of them. You just can't be a celestial spirit and an undead at the same time. There are other examples where some of the enhancement choices become completely useless due to previous build choices, like wolf companion related ones on a blightcaster.
3) found this post:
Apparently they have to explicitly code each specific interaction. Idk if feylock procs Fatesinger for example, so if some meaningful cases are not covered, you have a point here.
5) ikr, but new stuff sells better

Rauven

A relatively unknown Halfling who likes rainbows
Oohhh, crazy wish time? Here goes...
  1. A cosmetic wardrobe. Since mirrors make money an inventory tab system like the stable is not likely, but something like the hireling folder would do. And a way to convert the old single-use cosmetics to the new style. Perhaps with a mirror.
  2. Halfling and Dwarf iconics (it's long past time SSG). Not certain about Dwarf, but the Halfling iconic needs to be Talenta themed with a dino pet.
  3. Pets and Hirelings:
    • A real fix to their AI.
    • The ability to set their follow distance (why must they stand right on top of you all the time? I'm looking at you owlbear!)
    • Permanent gold seal hirelings that levels with you.
    • More Halfling and Gnome hirelings (tall folk smell funny). Throw in some Kobold hirelings, too.
  4. Speaking of Kobold. Playable Kobold.
  5. An actual 33% drop rate on elite would be nice but is probably asking too much. Seriously SSG, just go back to the named loot in the end reward list after X number of completions system. No one really cares if the "filthy casuals" get named loot except you. If it really bothers you that much then only give a full list on elite+ completions. Or make it a token system where the tokens only have a 100% drop chance on elite+ completions. But don't make it ridiculously expensive, we all know that's what you would do. 10 to 20 tokens/completions at most.
  6. Explore more of Eberrron. This travelling the planes things is okay, but it's been done to death. Eberron is a huge world with a lot of lore. I want to go to there.

After they fix the lag
That's some crazy optimism there.

IMHO, *if* they fix the lag before the game dies, the most important thing of all would be to get more people to play DDO.

One simple fix would do it: only sell the latest expansion and buying it includes ALL older content. After shedding so many players, we will need everyone to have access to everything to fill out groups.
