AI generated quests possibly(?)

I think it would be a good idea to implement in the game new quests, etc. that are generated by AI similarly to Bing or ChatGPT. There is a mod for skyrim that utilizes this, but it would be amazing to see it in this game as a feature.

The idea is from that I saw that a sound library is used from OpenAI for something and was surprised that this game uses OpenAI in a sense, so I think it would be awesome to see some quests that are controlled by AI, like this:
You talk to someone in the quest and you can haggle, intimidate, diplomacy or bluff them, the AI would respond to your bluff, etc. attempts differently each time depending on what AI generated option you choose. Wheter the option uses intimidation, etc. it would depend on context forcing the player to read it through or play with the consequences.

I think it would be an awesome idea to have that. (this comes from a programmer)

I strongly disagree with this. AI writing isn't in a place to be an effective replacement for human writers, and attempting to do so is both a terrible idea and also kind of scummy. There is a place for AI, but it's more to supplement human efforts. Also it seems the way you're describing things is to have the quest dialogue generated on-the-fly for each user, which raises a whole different set of issues. Even with the filters in place, there's no way to completely guarantee that the content generated won't be objectionable in some fashion.

Hmm. I feel like NPC dialogue isn't really the thing that makes DDO's quests time-consuming things to program...

I think you are completely underestimating how hard it would be, and how much work it would be to create an AI capable of making DDO quests.
I think it is a lot easier and less work to just make the quests.

I think you are confusing OpenAI, which we don't utilize, for OpenAL, which is a sound system that we do use: https://www.openal.org/
Ohh, dang it, that is weird, because on this link:
It surely states at one point openAi, not openAL because i tried to use ctrl+f with it and it was working for openAi, but not for the other.
(i/L is used exchanged lower/upper case to show it and not confuse the letters)

Maybe it was a typo then in the update notes. I was sorta excited tho because AI is being used more often and I would've found it amazing that the game is keeping up with it too (no mistakes, I like the game already as is, but I was extremely excited to see a possible collab on it).

I think it would be pretty easy considering the bar on some of them—essentially a disguised meandering corridor with groups of mobs, then fight a boss.

The quests like Claw of Vulkoor, Blockade Buster, Under the Cover of Darkness—those are briiant IMHO.

AI is just a mistake.

Hmm, let's attempt to make something as smart as we are that can process things 10,000,000 times faster and has no moral value, virtue, remorse, guilt, etc...

Then, let's put it into a gaming environment... NO THANKS.

I could see using AI to generate IDEAS and CONCEPTS that could then be translated into content via devs themselves, but currently AI isn't refined enough to replace human element and cognizance yet. Down the line? Possibly, but that's a moral dilemma for the future.
