Is this with temporary boosts? I'm on my phone but that looks like Wellspring running?Currently playing an Air Savant (Wild Mage) and I'm amazed by the spellpower and crit % dmg I'm able to reach.
What's the max spellpower and crit % dmg you've been able to achieve? Curious to see how other builds perform.
Cheers.

Yeah that is fully buffed - Wellspring, Memento : Reaper's Power, Potion of Spellpower (+25), Potion of Greater Spark (+20), Night Horrors, Xachosian Spell Frenzy. Is this with any temporary boosts?
You can get higher crit% (esp. as a water/cold savant), but I didn't realize you could get this high spell power nowadays without metas or temporary buffs.
So that is just shy of 1700 with full metas and without any temporary buffs. Still slightly higher than I thought was possible.Yeah that is fully buffed - Wellspring, Memento : Reaper's Power, Potion of Spellpower (+25), Potion of Greater Spark (+20), Night Horrors, Xachosian Spell Frenzy.
But I can sustain 1441 very easily - with just the 2 pots listed above.
I've been thinking that air/electric is as viable as cold/fire for some time now.
Part of it is how the filigrees are setup. You only need 2 filigrees to get +50 with Electrocution. It allows you to double up on Voltaic, Elemental Avatar, Dragonsoul and Otto's.
It feels like there are more electric spell power filigrees than there are cold/fire.
Which is why I am curious to know the numbers other builds achieve.
Yeah, the power is impressive. IIRC, my tanky cold druid has 75~80% critical chance with more unmined chance out there, but nowhere near that power level. You can get higher crit% (esp. as a water/cold savant), but I didn't think you could get this high spell power
128 evocationWhat is your evocation/enchantment DC?
It is. I only have -60ish threat reduction.aggro might be an issue witout Magus.
one nice thing about electric is that you can make use of both scorching ray and frost lanceYeah that is fully buffed - Wellspring, Memento : Reaper's Power, Potion of Spellpower (+25), Potion of Greater Spark (+20), Night Horrors, Xachosian Spell Frenzy.

Is call lightning storm > boosted frost lance? Also, filigree support is better for cold than electric with that extra 5% crit and 50 cold spell power.Air savant is in theory one of the best savant choices, but mainly because you can get HElf call lightning storm and snapshot a mantle at ~CL40, as well as dip into a second mantle (PA) and/or sonic (FS) if you want
To be honest, I don't look at the combat log, except on very rare occasions. Usually, that's when I get one-shoted and want to find out what happened.Curious as to what ur crits look like?
Cold has 5% more crit chance than other elements, which is subtlety impactful. Cold also has better single target spells like Frost Lance and Polar Ray compared to electric. Magus of the Eclipse is also the best T5 destiny for casters thanks to Time Stop, with Moon Lance and Zero Degree Comet being excellent SLAs to fit into your rotation. While any sorc can use Burst of Glacial Wrath, it does meaningful damage for cold sorcs. SSG would have to radically change things with cold filigree, cold spells and Magus for other elements to be as competitive. And they should, since cold has been the best elemental choice for years.I've been thinking that air/electric is as viable as cold/fire for some time now.
Tell me Ying : do you only play what's meta or you sometimes try to be creative and play other builds just for the fun of it?Cold has 5% more crit chance than other elements, which is subtlety impactful. You made the equivalency claim about air and cold and I retorted. If you don't like my response, then dissect my response using facts instead of resorting to ad hominem. Aside from Thunderstroke, sorc air spell selections aren't great shapes when you're focused on single target damage. Draconic Incarnation and Primal Avatar don't offer anything cool for electric like Magus does for cold. Lightning Bolt doesn't scale high enough to matter, and needs some love like Frost Lance received. For AOE, chain lightning is a fine spell but Ball Lightning has targeting/radius issues.Tell me Ying : do you only play what's meta or you sometimes try to be creative and play other builds just for the fun of it?
Way I see it, there are pros and cons to each element. Even acid has pros, even if we will probably all agree it is 4th of all the elements.
I'm not trying to make a point for air against cold, I'm simply trying to share my numbers so I can improve them by comparing them to the other elements.
Care to share numbers of your Water Savant?
And would you rate me as a player that falls in that category?because players don't understand mechanics and do terrible damage, can't CC anything or can't stay alive.
I rate you as someone making a highlight reel and a claim that doesn't provide an accurate representation of the game once you dig into the details. And would you rate me as a player that falls in that category?
Ok, I think at this point, I'd rather just agree to disagree and move on.I rate you as someone making a highlight reel and a claim that doesn't provide an accurate representation of the game once you dig into the details.
Cold Sorc (standing in a reaper quest without any potions, boosts or metamagics):
Critical Chance: 84% (a 28% delta from your build)
Critical Damage: 124%
Spellpower: 1386
Evocation DC: 140s
Back of the napkin math shows electric doing 14% less raw damage compared to cold. In your build, it's a much wider delta than that. With a 102 CHA, your Evocation DC is likely low enough in modern content that mobs are frequently saving against your spells so they are taking half damage and negating crowd control. Your crowd control (BoGW and Greater Shout) is also exclusively Fortitude based, which means it's not going to work well against melee-type mobs where you want it to work the most. Cold also has the benefit of Polar Ray, which is no-save *and* scales to MCL25.
Symbol of Stunning on your bar instead of Mass Hold Monster is mindboggling.
And that's not even addressing the elephant in the room: Time Stop. It is single handedly the best epic moment in the game. Full stop. It's a disservice not to be running it as a caster (including healers). It's dumb that it's so good, but I just play in the sandbox SSG has provided.

Agreeing to disagree when he shows you the math doesn't add up (not to mention the rest of the comments) to make this comment (see quotes below) true.Ok, I think at this point, I'd rather just agree to disagree and move on.
But hey, it was fun exchanging with you.![]()
