Ancient Power and Dwarven Axes and Bastard Swords

I have a question about how the Epic Past Life Ancient Power works with DAxes and BSwords.

Here is the description:
This feat grants both passive and active benefits.

  • Primal Past Life Stance: +2 to Attack per stack of this past life. If you are fighting in Two Handed Fighting style, you also gain +2 Damage per stack of this past life.
I would think this works with DAxes and BSwords, but since those can benefit from Single Weapon Fighting as well, maybe I wouldn't get the +6 dmg part?

I was going to make a Gnome Melee artificer and I was thinking about Warhammer (Knight's Training) vs DAxe and Bastard Sword (I use Fred to swap back and forth as I level into named items).
In the past, Warhammer wasn't bad with frontal AoE Rune Arms and actually using spells for some damage.
The DAxe and BSword was slightly faster because of AoE dmg.

On most melees I have done, the the Two hand fighting option just leveled so much faster than TWF or SWF (Like a 2HF Warchanter vs a Swashbuckler Warchanter) or when I did Sacred Fists (though once you get the damage spells, the difference wasn't as noticable) with Fists vs Q-Staff, or Monk...or Favored Soul (Greatsword vs TWF)

I would doubt it would work as daxes and bswords are 1 handed weapons. But in DDO, who knows,

If I recall correctly when it comes to hand and a half weapons ancient power and half orc's Orcish Weapon Training enhancements work contrary to each other, so I would guess it's half orc treats them as 1h and because ancient power says two handed fighting style they gain the damage from AP.
I do know that boulder's might specifies two handed fighting style and you can use BM with a waraxe or bastard sword.

I am currently playing through an artificer life on my main Muhther using bastard swords. I just logged in and toggled *off* and then *on* the active past life for Ancient Power. The weapon status showed a -/+ 6 point change to damage as I did this and -/+ 12 to hit. Oh, and she is using the Two Handed Fighting combat style feats.

I’ve found that it’s very inconsistent and each thing needs to be tested independently. I typically run a Daxe and Shield and benefit from THF and SM lines.

THF feats work obv. And I get the THF buff icon
Boulder’s Might works.
Ancient Power Does give +6 Damage

However…
Power Attack only gives +5 damage
Nature’s Fury (T5) does not give an extra 19-20 crit multi.

The wording is also not consistent so not a good gauge of whether something might apply.

Style vs weapon type. Hand and a half weapons are still single handed weapons but they can use the two handed fighting style. So it makes sense that power attack only gives +5 damage to them, since the feat only cares about weapon type, not style.

Nature's fury is the odd man out in this case and I wonder if it's WAI.

Boulder’s Might also says that you need be “using a Two handed weapon while not natural fighting”, so there’s no real consistency in wording.

I went and found a Dwarven Waxe and it does indeed work.

Makes the Warhammer build even more less likely lol.

I'm doing my toon's Gnome lives now. Did Drow before. Since both are intelligence bonus races I decided to use Artificer for them. BUT...I wanted to do bastard swords for the Drow and war hammer for the Gnome with Two Handed Fighting for the Drow and Single Weapon Fighting for the Gnome. Then...I got lazy. Already had the feat progression mapped out and a stack of bastard swords and just stuck with them. `

Same with a two hander, it's been +6/12 for a while.

yes it does.. i played Dwarf forever, and use dwarf axe for many lives through heroic. That's where you can easily test the numbers around lvl3-5 well before multipliers get out of control.
