Another variable problem with loot

Just played times long past in MD for the third time total. That quest takes forever. I think average for me is about 90 minutes. I have to say, that for these extremely long quests that eat up a ton of time and resources to complete, they either need to double or triple the rate for getting named loot, or provide multiple end chests. Good thing I'm not interested in MD gear anymore, because I would not grind that quest for any gear, just doing it for the saga for more guild xp.
Side note, after going through all the MD quests for the third time, I finally got a single named gear item, Legendary Cuffs of the Forbidden. I'm so overjoyed and excited and this gear piece is so special because I finally got one (sarcasm) My sentient jewel will think it's tasty.

It took me 2 times to learn it but after that I was running it at 21+/- minutes per run and that was with getting all the side chests. So many people are running quests in Myth Drannor without doing the side chests and complain about not getting any Golden Age Weapons either. (Not you but others I have run with.)

I ran the whole MD saga maybe 10 times or so.
So far I got one! named item that I actually equipped on one of my toons. I still didn´t get a suitable augment for it, though.
Got lots of fallen age weapons to feed to my sentient gems and one golden age weapon that I don´t use either.
So, yeah, I don´t care about farming for that stuff any more with these rates.

The problem really is, if you replace one item from an older set, you will lose the entire set bonus. To compensate for that, you would need 5 MD items with appropriate augments. And that´s not going to happen with the time I´m willing to invest.

Never mind that much time to invest, at my age, I am not sure I have that much time left!

This.

Exactly This.

So Much This.

The loot tables are a fail (to many items).

Rare items are a fail (they are arbitrarily rare, they are the exact same bonuses as earlier gear, jus now they are 'rare')

Due to the nature of the 'sets' you can't swap out one piece (exception, Feywild's stacking bonuses) and, in many cases, fewer pieces in the sets grants more bonuses (again, exception, feywild where you get one less bonus than the number of pieces you have).

nice concept for flexibility. massive fail in implementation

I leave no chest unturned or opened in this case. lol

Yea, I've already decided to go with Isle of Dread and Vecna gear depending on the class of the character. Those are more generous quests, and more enjoyable in my opinion. Don't get me wrong, I do think the quality of playable content in MD is great, but outside the xp, the reward to effort ratio is worse than bad, if bad is the evil that caused Satan to fall from the heavens. Play 13 quests 3 times on elite with treasure pots on a treasure boost weekend and only pull a single named item. And never have I seen a golden age wepon, only fallen age. And that's on both heroic and legendary.
In contrast, I played Vecna once through without all that and just on elite, and got a named gear piece every 2 out of 3 quests, and the rest I got reliquary weapons. All the optional chests gave me reliquary weapons as well. Isle of Dread I get something nearly every time on just elite with no treasure boosts. I'm interested in how the Chill of Ravenloft will go. I'm hopeful, but guessing I'll be sticking with IOD and VU gear.
