Any reason to go wolf instead of bear?

If I'm just doing casual R1 past lives, is there any reason to do wolf instead of bear? Bear DPS has been really good.

Bear dps is bad, bear aoe is good.

IF you aren't slowing down against bosses - who would, it's r1 lol - then not really any reason.

Wolf would slow you down because it lacks the AOE of bear. Wolf has nice run speed when you're not fighting packs. Set the forms up on your hot bar and you can switch back and forth.

Bear DPS and AoE is insanely strong, especially while leveling. No reason to go wolf except maybe Ghost Touch from T2 Nature's Warrior.

Why do I have 522 ddo build files

If you haven't tried Ghost Wolf Pack, you should. It's pretty much a "beat this pile of mobs" button. Unfortunately long CD so not worth building around...

Also WWA on wolves does a cute backflip and is very satisfying to use :D

Bear is definitely better for leveling pretty much across the board though, unless you're in a party often enough that the movespeed of wolf > the everything else of bear.

Probably if like SDK Chain build or something Wolf is comparable since faster AS translates to faster cleaves, but you can just play bear and it's good all around lol.

As a wolf enthusiast getting the cleaves and the aoe attacks in the tree is usually more than enough to drop packs. The attack speed and run speed of wolf is so good. If you're into zerging then wolf is your speed. +20% combat style attack speed with a two hander is kinda nutty. Plus the little side kick flip thing you do when cleaving is great!. The dog trip works on reapers fyi. Oh and you get helpless dmg so there's that.

Bear - more like fighter style with better defenses and strikethrough.
Wolf - more like agile spellcaster hybrid style with faster attack speed and movement.
Essence of the Shrike from wolf tree provides almost limitless sp (30% chance for +20 per hit with improved critical scimitar, but more with pet hits, additionally increased threat range and aoe attacks), so you can use spells a lot for more interesting and enjoyable playstyle.
Works also in bear form if you can sacrifice 12 ap for it.

I am very pro-wolf Purr but you should just try it out one life and see which you prefer. Both styles are fun and great in heroics

And has a spell that makes you move even faster although I think it doesn't stack with sprint boost
Snowslide? No, it doesn't stack with sprint boost, but I believe it's a 15 second cooldown attack that is basically a spring-attack like leap that gives you the sprint boost speed for 10 seconds, so you have the speed more consistently than you would with sprint boost.
