Anyone else have their CC compromised after making purchase?

True, the police can't do much in this sort of situation but they can pass it along to the FBI who actually do work with CC fraud. Nobody on the forums is capable of doing anything for you.

Bottom line, if you get an email saying 'such and such', it is likely a scam. Report it and take a second look at your security (that's assuming you took a first look at it).
This was a legit email. I called the bank directly with a number I googled for the bank. It was compromised. They locked it and sending me a new one

I've had two instances where my card was compromised. Interestingly both occurred just after trips to Disney World. I'm not saying it is Disney World that compromised my CC, just saying both instances occurred after trips there (One by plane the other by driving)

It’s super tempting to blame the last place you used a card. But the compromise can just as easily have happened weeks or months ago. Nature of the beast unfortunately.

In the case of major tourist traps there is probably a more significant chance of a card skimmer or ghost tap being the culprit rather than the destination itself. Since it is such a significant crowd of potential victims for scammers to defraud.

Almost certainly on this kind of thing to be honest, usually a list of details gets ripped off from a processor and then sold in full to a third party, even with a physical skimmer. Nobody's selling 1 person's CC details, which is why I doubt it was DDO because nobody's tried to use my card for any nefarious purposes recently.
