I can tell you that reaper completion consistently yielded nothing for me :) Likely does not matter, but just the difficulty setting of the wilderness matters.

I tried rerolling the chest for astral shards, but I could only reroll it 3 times.

What's up with that?

I was thinking that one can only reroll 3 times max at every chest ..(you know: gambling, addiction, time consuming quest… whatever reason the devs think of) my personal view: Yes it is ok that way, so one dont get burned out… but on the other hand: it suxx when you have the rnd god not on your side)

After reading this thread, I realize I was very lucky. I only ran the quest twice -- LN then LH, -- and the first run was just "kill everything" zerg. On LH I bought the wands, sneaked about... and managed to pair up Romira and Juvian without ANY hints. Was just doing whatever seemed most sensible.

Had not visited them in Myth Drannor yet; in fact I had never been in Legendary MD, only heroic so far.

Should you kill the end boss too early because of your OP DPS, don't fret. Just talk to Romira and Jovian and lead them to the end room (main last fight with end boss which only opens up after you pull all the levers). The lovebirds will automatically initate the conversation about the Picnic optional.

You can confirm the Cerulean Hills optional will open up to you by checking your Experience Report page; it should indicate as : Completed "(Optional) (Secret) Arrange a date for Romira and Juvian".

P/S : If you have problems with pathing for Romira and Juvian to follow you at any point during the initial part of the quest, just be patient and wait for the surrounding Sauhuagins or Kobolds to move (in due time) and they will follow you. At most, open the dialogue box with them and choose to park them and then follow you again.

All in all, be patient and good luck with the beautiful goggles !

Ugh this is still pretty buggy. Even if you sneak perfectly and knock out an agitator from a distance, some mobs in a pack still aggro - Sahuagin witches particularly seem to always aggro. And man this one is so frustrating... if you kill Trevash in the last room too fast the script never finishes and you can't send them on a picnic. That one is painful since it's at the very end. Also Juvian is a slow little kobold and he gets lost and stuck a lot.

edit: On another attempt and Both Romira and Juvian have stopped even trying to move. I hate them the most of all the mobs in the game right now. Tried recalling out and reentering and nothing. Gah.....

Edit2: Next attempt killed Trevash too fast again. GAH


edit 3: Next attempt on Legendary elite..... all above bugs are there but managed to get these two kids together.... Picnic time! Definately a "Don't kill too fast" bug like the old days. Now to test to see if the goggles can drop on legendary..... and no goggles. Rerolls on the Cerulean Hills chest are only 1 so that is definitely the place to get the goggles even if they drop in Myth Drannor if all you want is the cool graphic. (I am gonna read above and see if anyone got them and from which chest).

Someone above said that the left chest is a dragon chest in MD and right chest is the one that can have glasses. Got a golden weapon from left MD chest so that is probably right.

Once you've found the disguised elf you can just go full murder hobo until you have to speak to Romira/Juvian. Don't know if you can still get the picnic if you pick a fight with whoever's outside.
