anyone notice a change in the power of mobs on elite.

I know this doesn't apply to the power players, but has anyone else noticed an upgrade in mobs on elite setting?

My question arises from doing Safehold in MD. Up until this week I was able to solo this (with hirelings and my wolf companion) on elite with no problem. This week I've been wiped every time I've run it before even getting to the final boss. The mobs seem to be more plentiful, and hit way harder, especially fire and acid hits. I'm using the same toons as all the previous times I've done it, 30+.

I'm just asking if any non-uber players have noticed anything.

Again thanks for reading and any info you can leave.

Thanks D.
I've pretty much given up on loot from MD.
Just seemed to me that the regular mobs were hitting much harder and seemed to be taking less damage then I've been used to.

I haven't noticed it. Check to make sure you didn't accidentally unequip something important. I have swapped out gear and in my enthusiasm, not realized I was without fortification or sheltering or healing amp or deathblock. I do usually notice the deathblock pretty quickly though as I just end up dead abruptly.

Also I have seen where something like fortification messes up and just doesn't get registered properly. Take off all your equipment and re-equip it. Although I must say, when this is the case a log out usually fixes it too.

I actually had that recently in the harbor quest Bringing the Light funny enough. On a multi-life alt at level 3, favored soul with ~120 health and ~20 PRR. I was doing harbor quests on reaper 1, went into bringing the light with the hireling Frenzy along for fun, and when the dogs got released they all were doing 60-70 damage and absolutely instantly destroyed me and the hire within 2 seconds. I just went back and did that one on elite (which was still oddly tough) and then effortlessly did the rest of the harbor. Zero issues from 3-30 the rest of the life.

Makes me wonder if maybe certain quests had accidental or intentional tweaks lately, or maybe on certain difficulties or with other certain factors changed. Not sure there's much good way to know other than any other anecdotal accounts though.

That is exactly what I was thinking. That some of the fixes messed with something not intended. I have seen that happen before, over my 12+ years of playing.

This week noticed, I only play elite or r1/2, all mobs seem to have a lot more monsters than usual, and they seem to be a lot tougher and aggressive. Ravenloft, I got killed by 3 rats in final vintage in as many seconds, when I was 3 levels above quest and with 2 hirelings. Same in Invitation to dinner, same parameters, A monster ran up punched me for a one shot kill when I had full health and buffs on . So yeah, you're not the only one.

No problem. More information helps. Also, played a level 2 quest on elite(lvl 4) with a level 4 character in the harbor. And a stupid cold trap I forgot about insta-killed me. Shouldn't have happened with my energy resistance and absorption I had. It's not just the mobs, the traps seem to be more troublesome too.

Another good point. In Safehold I had both 65% acid and fire resistance and absorbtion, and was never killed by the blazing bones and carrion crawlers, but this week they basically tore me apart. The same with the Displacer beast in there, it was almost 75% displaced to my hits, way more then usual.

And if you pardon a small rant. This is what irks me about the lack of communication on the fixes. If the Dev's are going to tweek something in game that affects how it's played I think they could tell us what they think might happen so WE don't waste our time/potions etc playing something that they are testing. I sure this will cause some blowback, but IMHO our time is just as important as anybody else's

RNG for champ types on any given pack can make things easier or way harder.
Also a lot of times mob AI/pathing is a bit wonk, so they're easier to kill; when they're running properly they're more dangerous.

Good point, but to be honest I don't think there were more then 1 champ when I got smoked today.
