Are we stuck with the silly green borders on raid gear forever?

I think it's only the case for loot that drops after the event has ended and not loot that already dropped during the event.
And this is exactly why I took a break from playing DDO. I didn't want any items with that border.

With all fairness they could remove border and leave internal event tag. I bet very few people will keep playing their hardcore characters even less will keep them alive. Having fey description just as good as visual border, but without disruption to regular visual patterns. SSG can, by why would they?

The borders were a terrible implementation from the start. I recall that there was a bunch of work put in by Tonquin around U50 to standardize borders and allow people to distinguish between items. With the amount of inventory management time that DDO already requires from players, anything that makes me take longer at chests, vendors, shared bank, and on storage alts is like a slap in the face.

I bought a 3 month sub just to get winter wings from this event, but as soon as I was finished with my winter characters, all of the named items that dropped are likely going to end up as sentient food because of the borders. If SSG doesn't give us a way to remove / turn off borders, I'll be more likely to just take a break from DDO during the next event rather than opening my wallet again.

As stated by Tolero on the most recent Fridays at Four, SSG can remove the borders and Symphony of the Fey description on the items. She asked for community feedback on if they should do that or not. There are other threads here on the forums where people are expressing their opinions on the subject.

Gee... wouldn't it be great if SSG had a place where they could post a poll letting players vote and provide feedback on that so people who work or sleep (Euros) during the Fridays at 4 streams would actually know SSG wants said feedback?

Oh wait... 🤦‍♂️

i'll be happy if new loot drop without the border, i wouldn't even mind having all the thing i picked up the last 2 months with that ugly border. Seems we have to wait until the disable the event again,

What a ridiculous request for feedback. Surely even the most devoted of players would be wanting the border gone.

I guess its too hard for them to pose such a question on the forum...

The Altar of Legacy Epic Rituals should be able to remove borders once the event ends again, but only from upgradeable epic items. It was able to delete an augment I slotted into an epic item, so it's just regenerating them from scratch.

This will destroy augments, mythic bonuses (but as an upgradeable I don't think they even have mythic bonuses) and reaper bonuses, but it should work fine.
