Artificers and ASF

Hi, if i understand correctly, Artificers do not suffer ASF from casting from their own spell list wearing light or medium armor and a shield (not tower).

Is there any way to stretch this? Not talking proficiency as such, i know that Renegade Mastermaker tier 5 ability can provide no ASF from armor (implying heavy or adamantine). But what about Arcane Tempest spell and a heavy shield? It's on the sorc/wiz spell list and all. Thanks!

They addressed that once before if I recall. Only class-exclusive spells are generally exempt, so Arcane spells that appear on multiple lists
can trigger an ASF check. For those you need enhancements to reduce the penalty, mithril shields (10% less I think), ASF augment, or the
filigree if you're (20+). You run into that multi-classing quite a bit, depending on your build.

Yes ty, its basically the same as the tier 5 Renegade version; thing is, its tough trying for 0 ASF and using a tower shield... the only way I can see is taking the Fatesinger Mantle and that's just not going to happen. So no tower shield unless the filgree ASF options stack together, though even with an augment, and not WF, i'd still need 3 filigrees to complete the job?! I'll prob try to farm a Large Shield with (just) +15 Legendary Conditioning.

FYI Sapphire of spell agility +5%/10%/15% also can be slotted. ML 12/16/20.
