Hehheh, well....
For houses that were paid for, the process was to sell them for refund of the 'writs' used to buy them. (writs paid for with the equivalent of our AS.) Then rebuy a house on the new server with those writs. I didn't have a dog in that process, but it seemed clunky from many of the posts I read there. For us, our guild ships are going to be a sticking point. Does the guild transfer, does the ship come along with it? Do they do the refund/rebuy routine - if so, how to do that if the AS don't transfer... Etc. (Don't get me started on the mis-information about kin/guild transfers and how to make sure all members were supposed to retain their memberships...)
Edit: In addition to the ship itself, what about the paid-for amenities ON that ship?
The transfer proces was a horrod mess, as they were trying to push a river thru a 12-inch drain pipe. It took days for a transfer to process for those lucky enough to even get the transfer button to work. So that's non-play time if you're playing it safe by not logging in to your characters while things are "processing".
And now - there are STILL folks trying to get any word on lost items being replaced that disappeared during the move.
Some currency limits that may or may not have an equivalent here, (Oh, like say Glamdust. Idk if we have a cap on those here, but just as a comparison.) Moving characters from multiple servers to one risks hitting that currency limit and losing any that run over. Plat and shared plat storage has a cap, that could get filled and lose overage, tho i know most disregard plat as a non-issue.
So, yeah. There are a LOT of things that must be ironed out before any thought of moving crosses my mind.
