We will NOT be removing you from roster.
This in hopes SSG changes thier mind about the ViP lockout.
We're at lvl 79, and I have mandated NOT to take guild renown from chests. We will stay a large size guild getting no renown bonus, forestalling decay for as long as possible.
We have all the buffs available, and see no need to advance at an accelerated pace.
When the guild reaches lvl 149, we will make a determination as to how many people we "carry" on roster.
We especailly want the original members (250) to know your place in our great guild is secure.

Thanks to everyone making chainmail a fun place to be a part of.

renown decay (typical old turbine mindset to frustrate players on purpose and making them farm what they farmed already) is a thing of the past, it has not been active for years, afaik, so i guess you can just enjoy leveling the guild!

I'm not certain as I have not been specifically tracking it, but I think you are correct as I have not noticed any decay despite my guild sometimes not playing for weeks.

Guild decay was nixed, like, 8 years ago.

I have a personal Guild above 150 for years. Even with my many long breaks, I have never seen a renown decay message.

If decay were reactivated, according to Archmage Dudewiki, in only occurs above Guild level 150. In a worse case scenario, renown would decay a Guild to level 150 and stop.

Take the Guild renown and get crackin trickin out that Kraken. 😺

yeah! imagine to develop a mmo with a system to punish on purpose the guilds (the backbone of any mmo population) , while making some code running all the time in the background, making the game spend resources for no reason but to inconvenience and frustrate players, and to create guild drama as obvious consequence, to track every guild size\activity to do it. all while evilly laughing i guess?! probably the same people that developed the challenge system, people way more disturbed than i am, i wish them all the good in the world and i hope they did seek and found help and now they are fine.

thank you SSG for being not like old turbine.

Kicking people will reduce your renown unless they're inactive for a long enough time period. https://ddowiki.com/page/Guild_Renown#Guild_renown_loss_from_leaving_characters
It's Cormyr, people fill lanterns and go back to home servers. IF ssg changes the servers status, those people will still be in the guild, My plan is solid. right now we have 110 inactive accounts of 250. I have no desire to boot them until the last possible minute.

It's really pathetic I post here for something positive in nature and it gets flamed by others.

wait until they are inactive for 1+ months. this way you will contain the renown damage.

or, don't kick them unless you need space for new recruits. inactives don't count for guild size purpose, if you think they may come back someday.

unrelated, i don't see why anyone should play specifically on Cormyr when the 64-bits servers become a thing, unless they are new players choosing a random NA server.

the VIP-only thing was to keep the population low at start to test the environment. probably, without the event stuff going on, the VIP-only has no sense nor purpose. i just hope all the players that are enjoying Cormyr and building something on it won't see the transfers enabled just because it will shut down.

At lvl 79, we already have everything we need. we're in no hurry to level up.
This is about keeping people on the roster incase the ViP lockout is changed. Or am I doing that wrong also? 😡

Ohhhhhhhh. Okay. Now I understand. My bad. You are worried about losing a bunch of renown when kicking inactive members. You also do not want to kick anyone, just in case the server ends up as an open to all server and a bunch of people migrate to Cormyr.

If you have the capacity, definitely do not kick. It will take another month or three to sort out Middle Earth, then the SSG systems people will return to working on 64 bit DDO. So...say...6 month time horizon for a decision on what Cormyr becomes? If you have the excess capacity to sit on a bunch of inactive members for some or all of that period, I agree that waiting to kick is the best plan.

As you know, Lanterns in the Mist closes on April 15. You will get a true read on who stays and who goes pretty soon after that.

Running up the Guild level will get you more storage, better Resist shrines, and...I forget what else. The storage is super helpful for me but perhaps not so much for you.

According to Archmage Dudewiki, a Guild Leader can kick members inactive for 6 months or more without suffering a renown penalty. Kicking still counts for recent departures. The whole recent departures thing never made much sense to me.

If I were an officer, I would council to keep packing on Guild Renown because 75% of a renown contribution, the worst case scenario, is better than 0% of a renown contribution. Squeeze those suckers for all they are worth then toss em away. However, it is your ship and you make the final decision. 😺

Funny story: A couple years back, I decided to move one of my characters out of my personal guild and into a normal guild, hoping for some company. I did not understand the process and left my own guild on bad terms!

Playing on Cormyr for a couple weeks, I noticed your Guild is active at all hours. Good luck!

My guess is Jan 26' at the earliest for our other 64 bt servers.
the are 2 more state rooms to get, lvl's 85 & 120. which will add 4 rooms in storage.
Our current lvl 80 TODAY!!! gives us 3% of all buffs, the 5% comes w/ state rooms. IMO the xtra 2% is nice, but not worth chasing after. It will come steadily with our core grp. The amount of renown everyone gets, by default for achieving quest objectives is considerable on a daily basis. So lvling + happens at rates defined by size & bonus, if any.
Also right now, the popualtion on Cormyr is 50% of just a month ago, as pple fill lanterns, they bail. I've seen a hundred do so in last 30 days. (inactives at 110 / 250)

Let's all hope SSG listens to the community and KEEPS Cormyr's open status.
YES the 32 bt server's will have a decreased population, but it also will help with lag there by default.
So there !!! SSG, A performance issue help 4 FREE!
