Augments that still don't work on pets

I tested out as many augments on pet gear as I could since most of them have been fixed on Lamannia. Pretty much all simple bonuses work now, things like ability bonuses, elemental resistances, saves, PRR, MRR, Spell Powers, Deathblock, Ghostly, Fortification, etc. Even some pretty neat things work like the Undying Sapphires, most of the Soulforged Augments, "The Eye of..." augments, The Facet of Coalesced Impacts, the Demonheart Emeralds, and even The Meridian Fragment works (increasing pet Spell Power increases Primal Avatar's Mantle Damage when the pet activates it - it adds the pet's and your Spell Powers together).

Some general things I noticed that don't work:
  • Augments with Spell Point. While this is understandable since pets don't cast spells, it still feels wrong to me since they have Spell Points as a stat on their character sheet. Regardless, I didn't mark them as not working when doing tests.
  • Augments with on-vorpal effects. It seems like pets might not properly get vorpal rolls. Feareater doesn't work, but Lifetaker does because it's just a chance to activate.
  • Augments with on-kill effects. Again, this might have to do with how pets are coded rather than specific augments.
  • Many [Race]-bane augments.
  • Doublestrike augments. Pets used to be able to doublestrike back when they had their own enhancements, so I'm surprised these don't work.
  • Nearly all of the Legendary Green Steel Tier 3 Weapon Bonus Effects and similar augment sources of them. To be clear, the LGS bonus effects aren't themselves augments, but they do show up on the pet collars - they just don't function. Similarly, augments like Woeful Flames (Legendary Ash), Melthorn (Legendary Dust), etc. don't function. However, there are notable exceptions:
    • Legendary Mineral (This grants metalline to the weapon, which might explain why this is the only LGS bonus effect to work on collars.)
    • Brighthorn (An augment version of Legendary Affirmation.)
    • Woeful Dimlight (An augment version of Legendary Affirmation.
So pets can activate LGS Bonus Effects on themselves, just not on enemies. Maybe this might not be hard to fix then? It would go a long way to making pets more useful if you could put Melthorn on a pet collar so it can stack Legendary Dust for you. Or even better, Legendary Ooze so my pet can summon oozes on its own. My guildies' rage would be beautiful...

And here's the list of every augment I found that didn't work:
  • Sapphire of False Life
  • Topaz of Feather Falling (It wouldn't have any use, sure, but the thought of my pet floating down amuses me.)
  • Ruby of the Endless Night
  • Diamond of Vitality +20 (Which is interesting, because the Ravil's Book of Recipes augments work.)
  • Ruby of Feybane (Additional bug: The 2d8 version shows up as 7d8 on the pet collar when equipped.)
  • Scourge of the Outsiders (The on-hit works, but the on-vorpal doesn't.)
  • Feareater
  • Swordcrossed Topaz and Legendary Swordcrossed Topaz
  • The Rubies of [Elemental] Blast and the Legendary Rubies of [Elemental] Blast (The on-criticals work, the on-vorpals don't.)
  • The Eye of Mabar (Doesn't fully work: The temporary HP on kill doesn't work, and the healing is only 1d2.)
  • Heroic/Epic/Legendary Solar Gems of Doublestrike
  • Legendary Green Steel Tier 3 Weapon augments with [Element]/Material/Dominion (The on-vorpals don't work. If it's a version that adds alignment bypass, that bypass will work.)
  • Legendary Green Steel Tier 3 Weapon Bonus Effects: (Again, they're not actually augments, but I'm putting them here since there are augment versions of them elsewhere.)
    • Legendary Salt
    • Legendary Affirmation (Remember that the augment versions of this work, but not this one as an LGS Bonus Effect.)
    • Legendary Lightning
    • Legendary Negation
    • Legendary Dust
    • Legendary Radiance
    • Legendary Vacuum
    • Legendary Ice
    • Legendary Earth
    • Legendary Magma
    • Legendary Air Strike
    • Legendary Steam
    • Legendary Incineration
    • Legendary Balance of Land and Sky
    • Legendary Water
    • Legendary Concordant Opposition
    • Legendary Ooze
    • Legendary Ash
    • Legendary Tempered Neutrality
    • (I didn't test Legendary Smoke but I'm gonna assume it probably doesn't work either.)
  • Brightfang
  • Flamefang (Good alignment does work)
  • Icefang (Chaotic alignment does work)
  • Meltfang (Evil alignment does work)
  • Sparkfang (Lawful alignment does work)
  • Shadowfang
  • Flamehorn
  • Icehorn
  • Sparkhorn
  • Melthorn
  • Shadowhorn
  • Horn: Relentless Fury
  • Aspect of Tar
  • Black Sands' Desire
  • Dolorous Flames (Good alignment does work)
  • Dolorous Chill (Chaotic alignment does work)
  • Dolorous Spark (Lawful alignment does work)
  • Dolorous Acid (Evil alignment does work)
  • Dolorous Dimlight
  • Dolorous Shadows
  • Miserable Maiming (The damage is incorrect - it appears to be 1d8. Also there's a string table error in the buff icon.)
  • Miserable [Race] Bane (I only tested Humanoid Bane, and it had a string table error in the buff icon.)
  • Woeful Flames
  • Woeful Chill
  • Woeful Sparks
  • Woeful Acid
  • Woeful Shadows
  • Woeful Relentless Fury
  • Woeful Salt
  • Woeful Magma
  • Woeful Frostbite
  • Woeful Lightning
  • Woeful Acidburn
  • Woeful Echoes
  • Woeful Venom
  • Woeful Energy

Ok, bad news - we've gotta pull the entire suite of Pet Augment fixes out of U79. We've run into a lot of issues during the regression process and at this point it's clear the whole fix needs more time to bake to be safe to release. Thank you very much for taking the time to test out this fix on Lamannia, and hopefully we can take another crack at pet augment fixes sometime in the future.

Awesome work Gavaleus! Thanks for doing all of this.

This is something that any peeps who still care about about their critters really need fixed & it's been a long time coming. I really hope this will be sooner than later. 🤞

Better to pull back than go ahead and end up making things worse through unintended consequences. I approve of this.

Thanks for being consistent and having a quality mindset. Sucks that the rug got pulled from this.
The only concern I have is that "sometime" is translated as "forget about it, will never happen" nowadays.

That's unfortunate, but I totally understand. I was never expecting these changes in the first place, so the fact that they at least got partially implemented was a pleasant surprise. My fully summoner-spec'd flavor character will just have to stay... flavorful for the time being lol

Devs know they don't work on pets .... it is intentional.
They intently dislike caster classes.
so expect zero love here.

I'm more of the "why bother" camp, it's not like with a ruby of some sort the pets will do substantial damage all of a sudden.

@Tonquin, while you are in the augment system for pets...

Can we get more augments on pet specific gear? Pets need a lot of help to be useful outside of Normal or Hard and a more augments would help towards that goal.

I think you were part of the Thirteen design (Bastard Sword from lower Morgrave), maybe something like that in the next expansion?
