So, the day of departure is now officially coming and while I'm really excited to see what Moonsea will hold for us, I'm also cognizant of the fact that not all of Cannith will go to Europe. I've played DDO on-and-off for well over a decade, exclusively on Cannith and I've meet and run with so many great and friendly players over the years. And, while I hope to continue seeing most of you on Moonsea, I just wanted to say a heartfelt goodbye to those of you going elsewhere. I've thoroughly enjoyed our time together and thanks to all the people who have joined me (and Zeph) over the years on all kinds of shenanigans.

Hmmm a fitting song considering the news, but I prefer this one: "It's the End of the World as we know it... And I feel fine!"

I'd like to leave a heartfelt thanks to everyone I've run with over the last 15 years. Cannith has been a good home. Hopefully Moonsea will be too.

I was from Cannith since 2008 but went to Orien during the free swap. Our guild and a few others from cannith combined into one guild and shipped to Orien as it was basically a semi megaserver. We have players from all over being US, Europe, Asia and others and I'm sure as time lingers on closer to the transfers, a pick will be made on which server will be chosen as a same like Orien. I am suspecting it might be Thrane but too early yet. I'm on eastcoast US, but as a guild even the others want to stick together and don't really care about a few more ping or less, but rather a more populated server to play together on. So maybe instead of jumping on board to early, u might consider trying to wait beforehand. I get the euro people but is it worth it, you might be hurting yourself in the long end, as it may turn out to be like wayfinder.

Time will tell - but immediately doom saying an Euro server isn't great either :)
haha well moonsea might not be the wayfinder, im just saying one of them will be on the lower end of the side...or who knows it might be pretty balanced. I made this comment otherday in hopes to many wouldnt jump ship so fast. I just rather have a big playerbase together is all.

The advantages of a local EU server - better ping and people playing in broadly similar time zones, largely outweighs other considerations IMO.

I'm more interested in grouping with good people than good players, and I believe I will find good people on Moonsea to offset those I lose. Which I reckon would be true of any server. There will of course be a few AHs, again on every server, but I expect they will get sussed out just as they have elsewhere, and ignored accordingly.

So the key differentiator for me here is the server location.

But of course, YMMV. 👍

After being a citizen of Cannith for fifteen years, it truly does feel bittersweet to be heading to a new server.

Even when taking a break from DDO, Cannith has for over a decade felt like a cozy second home to me that's always there for me to return to. Even if you're not familiar with everyone or constantly socialising, you can recognise plenty of names – almost like long-time neighbours that you nod in greeting to while going about your day!

While I look forward to meeting my new neighbours, I, too, hope to see many of you over on Moonsea. 🙂
