Automatically implement/assign all Metamagics to all SLAs

Is there ever a reason why you don't want a particular SLA to have the effect of a particular Metamagic Feat? I can't think of one. And having them applied automatically at LEAST as the default (Always On instead of Standard) would be a non-trivial QoL improvement for many. And even if there is a reason someone might not want a particular Metamagic applied to some specific SLA, they'd be able to change it.

No downside.

And as an added benefit, newbies and the unenlightened wouldn't potentially run around with their SLAs underperforming for lengthy periods before they learned of the ability to customize those settings.

Yes. Sometimes I want to be near zero stats to test something. Where I take off caster gear, turn off metas, and then use an ability. But it being defaulted to on, with manually turning it off would work equally well for that.

Yes... Aggro management.

Why wouldn't you just change the frequency of your casting? That seems like a strange reason.
For the very reason that changing the frequency may have other consequences to a casters rotation. Sure this fits only a few situations but remember... you did ask.

True. But I was expecting either null answers or something valid. The 'testing' answer seems valid. Aggro management, not so much.

I'd be happy with an "all metas on" option and an "all metas off" option, in addition to the individual on/off options for each meta. Simply being able to activate all metas in SLAs (or certain spells) with a single click instead of having to activate them one by one would be a huge improvement.

If what you're saying isn't easy to implement, this option would also be decent.

Meteors and multi vials quicken needs to be on globally so then you fine tune slas and buffs

And you can globally turn them all on and remove from bars

So you're saying we have to select SLA's to work with metas? How does one do that? This is the first I'm hearing of this in two years of playing the game, most of which as casters of some sort.

The Metamagic Feats themselves represent global toggles to turn on or off their effects on ALL spells and SLAs you have... EXCEPT those for whom you've made individual settings. (You drag the Metamagic Feat icons from your Feats list to shortcut bars and toggle them to turn them on or off. Turning the global toggles on and off for Spells aids in Spell Point management.)

If you right-click on the shortcut bar icon for a spell or SLA, you'll see the option to set that particular shortcut to use its own set of rules. For EACH Metamagic Feat you've chosen, you can set it to "Default" which makes it subject to the global toggle, or you can set it to "Always On" or "Always Off". If you have a half-dozen Metamagics, turning them all on for all your SLAs is a bit of an undertaking. But you usually want them Always On for SLAs, since SLAs don't require more Spell Points when Metamagics are applied so there's no point having them subject to the global toggles.

Which brings us to this suggestion. By default, all Metamagics are set to "Default" for all Spells and SLAs. I suggest that the default setting (pun intended) for SLAs shouldn't be "Default," it should be "Always On".

got it, thanks. Seems like the game should really have the mechanics on all the game stuff posted or published somewhere. The actual game has manuals. This game is far more complex than that.

My bard turns off all metas on Sonic Blast, because I just use it for box breaking and don't want to REALLY piss something off if I happen to hit a mob before it gets aggro'd (I'm pretty ninja on dem boxes!)

Not a bad idea. But I can imagine how many bugs would appear if they were to mess with it...
It's better to leave things as they are. At least it works.

I do the same. Sonic Blast became all-but-useless when they changed it to single-target a few years back.. except for its cheap utility for blowing up breakables in a decent radius on a very short cooldown.

Some spells don't work right with quicken, like meteor swawn and one of the druid thorn spells (the one that bursts from you). You have to turn the feat on itself, and then have to manually turn off whatever you don't want quickened. I think the druid one can be an SLA?

That's a decent reason to want to turn off a single Metamagic for a single SLA. Which my suggestion would still allow you to do.

Still, I did ask if there were any.

Also, I hadn't encountered that issue. What goes wrong?

I can't think of any reason to not have any sla on with a meta

all metas on except for haste read somewhere that its bugged where is sometimes doesn't work when used as an always on option and you have to have it manually toggled on for all spells for it not to effect you
