Ave atque vale

My journey in DDO has been long. From Lyrandar, to Devourer, to Thelanis for a short time, to Ghallanda, and for the past two years, Orien.

It has been fun :) I've had some hilarious deaths (dying in Red Fens explorer area at level 20), there have been amazing saves (when VoD was new, everyone was dead - including me - but the monk kited for 20 minutes with a shuriken... and we got the completion!), and some truly epic grinds (six hours in Epic Wizking, before we gave up).

Through it all, though, it's been the people along the way. I've seen some truly horrible players, and some truly great ones... and sometimes, the former became the latter after a couple of years :) But no matter what, it's nearly always been fun. Even my old TR companion, who nolonger plays, when he told me that docent in PoP was awesome for my warforged fighter :p Being taught about /death count... ah, those were the days...

More recently, we had to do Titan three times to get a completion, because two of the three of us had forgotten UW items... ah, the joy.

And now it comes to an end, at least for some of us. My guild, The Sovereign Knights, is splitting up. We have a couple of Americans among us that will go to one of the US based servers, while us EU folks are going to Moonsea. It's a sad farewell after all these years. I really wish the 64bit servers didn't have to happen this way, but here we are and all of us will have to make what we can out of it.

On the positive side, maybe we'll see some of the people again that we lost among the way, especially those we lost to Thelanis, and those who stayed on G-land. I'm looking forward to that, and to seeing a vibrant community on Moonsea in all aspects, from level 1 to endgame questing and raiding. I do believe we are going to get some more good times out of it :)

So at this point, before we all split up and go to different servers, I want to say thanks. Thank you to everyone I've played with, even if I'm semi-senile and likely don't remember your names. Sorry. It's me, not you :p Thank you for the awesome zergy levelling groups, thank you for the slow paced exploring runs, thank you for the grind-till-our-eyes-bleed runs, thank you for the raids, thank you for the r10s... and more of all, thanks for all the fun and banter. It's been great :)

So, I salute you all, and bid you a fond farewell, wherever you go. And hope to see many of you again, somewhere, somehow.

With the best of wishes to each and every one of you,
Dantig, Jarlenn, Rhaja and Dandonk, guild "leader"* of The Sovereign Knights

* Hah, nobody else wanted to at the time, and now it's too late. Muahahahaha!

Alt account transfer failed, but I could go check... 45 ms, is lots better that the 120 ms before. Still, Aarhus seems to be a backwater, or maybe my ISP is hmmm.
