I was excited when it got into Early Access. Played it a little.

Then it never came out, and forgot about it until now. Not really excited anymore.

Sorry for your experience (although not my business to be apologizing *shrug*) I have seen Larian be very communicative re: this game and it looks more epic than anything I've seen. YouTube videos are omnipresent on the game and it's release date. I don't do early access for this reason. Hope you'll reconsider if you liked the first two. This should be an incredible game.

My own fault for buying during early access, I've done that a little too often and I never seem to learn heh.

But yeah, will have to play it at some point. Maybe my tuesday night gaming group will do it after we get bored with D4.

Has there been any confirmation or hint from Larian as to if Dragonborn will be in the full game? I have checked a few times, but it sounds like no one spotted any in the EA version.

is this a mmorpg or just single player? I have fond memories of BG and I wish the devs had added a hamster to the falconry list

I watched some of the development videos and there was a lot of MA-17/XXX stuff in there. Felt like they leaned hard into the softcore Witcher/Dragon Age stuff instead of sticking with the more family friendly approach that BG1, BG2, and DOS and DOS2 did. Not sure I want that in my house around my kids.

It's single player like the other 2 baldur's gate games. Don't know if it will include online multiplayer like the first 2 games, though.

I've been waiting for this game to get out of early access so long that I've lost most of my initial interest.
At this point I've been waiting so long I'll probably just wait another year and buy it on discount after all the patches and any expansions are released. (This is from someone that bought every infinity engine game on release day)

I can do things others can't...
Family and I have got this on Early Access already and will be on this when first available (so around 28th August for us early adopters). So we'll be away from DDO for a few days during that time if there isn't anything else on DDO to compete with it (or no immediate testing is needed of anything).

The wife and I will play it together but probably after 6 months or so when it will be cheaper.

I'm really looking forward to it. I bought the game when it arrived in EA but only really played through the intro as a halfling warlock. I don't really have any interest in playing half a game (I generally dont play betas and stuff too unless there is some reward that carries over) but I wanted to support the team. Probably going to stream a playthrough with some viewers!

I gave in and tried it out on early access last year for a couple of hours & was very encouraged, but I've been holding off playing more than that. Definitely looking forward to it & woo the release date is during a week I've already got booked off work so I'm sure i'll have fun getting stuck into it.

Just played part of Act I. Truly awesome and in line with everything we loved from BG1 and 2.
Very excited for the full game. The character options are immense, the detail incredible, and the world enormous with so much more to come. Very cool thus far. Minsc and Jaheira will be companion options!

Looks like Dragonborn will be in the game after all.

And much to my delight - metallic Dragonborns will be there too:

A Dragonborn's subrace determines their damage and resistance. For Silver Dragonborn that's cold damage; for Red Dragonborn it's fire. In Baldur's Gate 3, there are 10 subraces to choose from: Black, Blue, Brass, Bronze, Copper, Gold, Green, Red, Silver and White, more subraces than any other race in the game."
