Hey, I double-checked the interaction between Child of Faith / Beloved of Faith and Favored Weapon enchantments, and here are the results:

Test results:
  • Child of FaithWORKS with Favored Weapon enchantments
  • Beloved of FaithDOES NOT WORK (as already mentioned for other weapons earlier in forum thread)

Test setup:
  • Class: Paladin
  • Enhancement: Holy Combatant (T3)
“+2 to Attack and Damage with Favored Weapons. You gain Greatsword as a Favored Weapon.”
  • Weapon used: Greatsword

Observed behavior:
  • With Child of Faith, the Favored Weapon bonuses apply correctly.
  • With Beloved of Faith, the Favored Weapon bonuses do not apply.

This looks like inconsistent behavior between the two feats and may be a bug (or at least needs clarification in the descriptions).

I can do things others can't...
I'm afraid OP's conclusions is incorrect. Although the testing and results is correct, it is incomplete, which lead to the wrong conclusion.

What is actually happening is:

Beloved of Faith is correctly giving +1 to Exotic Weapons Attack and Damage, +3 to Simple Weapons Attack and Damage, BUT it is missing the +2 to Martial Weapons Attack and Damage. This STACKS on top of the Child of (if you have this) and Follower of Faith bonus

Child of Faith is correctly giving +1 to Exotic Weapons Attack and Damage +2 to Martial and Simple Weapons Attack and Damage. This STACKS on top of Follower of Faith bonus.

These bonus correctly apply to Cursed Weapons or specific Weapons being changed to becoming Favored Weapons by Enhancement Trees. I have not tested Destiny Trees as I am assuming because Feat and Enhancement Tree's work fine, the Destiny one should work in the same principle.

So for any Dev looking at this:

The bug is:

Beloved of Faith is missing the +2 to Attack and Damage for Martial Weapons bonus.

The Fix therefore should be:

Add the missing +2 to Attack and Damage for Martial Weapons

Okay, so it works for everything that is a Favored Weapon, but not for Martial Weapons, right? Good to know.

Good to know, but also disappointing to see this happening...I have had beloved of divine in my new player THF greatsword pally build for some time that lots of players have used and if this is true I've been inadvertently been giving out a bad feat choice for that build to lots of new players who have used it. Hopefully you all can take a minute to send in an official bug report with your findings, maybe they'll fix it. I'll do the same and try and make some time to test it as well next lamania.

I'm guessing it took @J1NG an hour or less to figure this out. You know, however, if you put together then entire DDO dev team, they could spend hours on this and not figure out what's going on, and would most likely come up with wrong conclusion and solution, and would probably implement said wrong solution incorrectly anyway, and more than likely break something else in the process.

Old code base I suppose.
