Aasimar Scourge gets +2WI and Ranger can work well with Cleric.

A purple dragon knight could probably manage a decent war domain cleric with a fighter splash for a melee tactical.
Or a defensive heal tank which would solo slower but be much more popular in groups.

For a battlecleric, consider PDK of Silvanus using mauls. Axel's build is a classic which creaks a bit but should still play fine. Works as fighter 1 cleric 19 with 41 Falconry 4 Kensei 25 Warpriest 6 Radiant Servant. Also works with Dark Apostate, apart from being a Dark Apostate.

Caster cleric is weak with 19 level.
For melee cleric, dragonborn is probably by far the strongest. Grab a falchion or SoS (epic: eSos), get +2 multiplier from dragonlord tier5 (in addition to the roar, displacement, trance, etc.) and later you'll get +1 crit range in addition from Holy Sword when you get 14 cleric.
You can't go dragonlord with purple dragon knight, so that leaves a couple of 14 Cleric/5 DL/1 X options open. Barbarian offers 10% run speed which is absolutely great for a quick past life. None of the other classes offer something comparable.
A morninglord could go 14 cleric 6 dragonlord, or still 14 cleric 5 dragonlord 1 barbarian.

Because the sun elf is an intelligence-based race whose preferred PnP class is wizard. The question isn't why the sun elf has intelligence in the cores, but why they chose sun elf for cleric, annoying both cleric and wizard players.
For casters—Deep Gnome. It's a race that grants a +4 to Wisdom. If you keep the wizard level, you get a free metamagic feat. If you don't, you still have a cute wisdom-based class that also gives you a few extra skill points thanks to the +2 Intelligence (something clerics appreciate)
-2 Cha, but it's not a huge loss.For melee/ranged—several possibilities. It depends on how you want to approach it.

To sell +1 LR woods... Most of the early iconics were a really bad sales pitch for +1 LR woods.

What a shame. Could be an interesting Cleric race with turning bonuses etc. but the best thing you can do is be something else :(

I'm currently mulling over a dhampir dark bargainer dark apostate battlecleric, looks like it could be fun though it's going to be a little while before i get around to it.

maybe scourge with amunator. Still heavy mace, but with the favored weaon and racial weapon enhancement for maces and clubs, it should be pretty solid.
