Best race for sorc these days?

He wasn't referring to a race, SD is Shadowdancer and there is a working level drain immunity in the tree.

The best race for a sorc nuker is Dragonborn, hands down.
Be careful with Warforged/Bladeforged. Once you gain Elemental Form, this race offers very little. You either have to abandon Elemental Form (losing all the spellcasting bonuses it provides, which are many) or drop Elemental Form to heal. Main advantage of reconstruct is providing a great heal in the middle of combat. But if you have Elemental Form, it's no longer a great immediate heal, since removing the shroud to heal takes away that immediacy.
Reborn in Fire is used to heal, even if you're a cold sorcerer (with cocoon as secondary heal). It's as effective as reconstruct and you avoid having to drop Elemental Form. You can take the spell even if you have cold as your primary element in primal avatar; just take fire as your second element in that ED.
Once you're in epics, warforged/bladeforged really provide very little, and it's very annoying to drop the shroud every time you need to heal (plus it's too slow in combat). But if you're only going to play heroics, yes, using repair spells is convenient.
