Best server for me?

First character, level 12 wizard.

From London UK and would like to play PUGs with other people from similar timezones.

What server is best for me? Ideally a server that has groups for all quests? Thank you!

Welcome to game :) and yeah Moonsea is great for that timezone/ping.

If you are looking for guild can message me (Lokidottir) in game - we got folks from all around in our guild that play in that timezone.

Could you tell me why this game is dying? just curious. Thanks! I had thought it was getting stronger due to more expansions etc
The game has been "dying" for 15 years, according to the forums. It's end is heralded often.

But DDO's population and content release has been pretty stable for about 10 years. While anything could happen, it's reasonable to expect the current state of the game to continue.

We have some of our player base that is jaded and very negative. They are pretty much trolls at this point as everything to them SSG does is bad. Ignore them. They have been here since the start and continue to refuse to leave even though the profess hating the game and SSG.

As a certain song goes....haters going to hate.

The vast majority of players enjoy the game, dont post a lot of the forums, and generally have a good time.

DDO continues to endure.

Maybe the game will give me a reason to play again in the next year. But really, I can’t understand why a new player would start in this game sans a hardcore everyone on equal footing standpoint.

It funny how you equate somebody starting now....vs veteran players. If you are way better than them...so what...in the end it is about the individual players journey. They are not competing with you or any other player for anything. You seem to misunderstand the basis of the game. It is not PvP but PvE. It is a subtle difference but it is immense. Maybe if you played the game for YOUR enjoyment and stopped worrying about others it wouldnt be so burdensome to you.

Seems some people dont understand the fun in the game is not being at the end of what is possible but the journey getting there...and the good friends and times you share during the voyage. Ive met some really amazing people over the years...many whom i call friend. Hope you find the same.

The fun of the game is different for different players. Adding catch-up mechanics does not diminish anyones fun.

Some folks never TR, some folks run the wheel - so dunno how much a catch up is needed, since can enjoy game in different ways.

But glad they lowered xp requirement for some of those early heroic lives at least :)

The game is nowhere near dying. Like all games, the forum is saturated by doom posts from people that don't like the game for one reason or another. If you've never played before, Shadowdale has a high population of casual players. Depends on when you play in England though, as Moonsea is the Euro server and you may find more groups there if you play in England "primetime".

This is the latest information from SSG's owner:

DDO may not be perfect, but the comments on DDO are only positive in the latest financial report.
