Yeah that's when I got for my main and two main alts.Have we seen +8 Supreme Tomes go on 75% sale before?
I don't know. Many games don't offer anything at all. Final Fantasy 14, the biggest MMO on the market at the moment, offers a couple of cosmetics and pets, and you have to play for 3+ years to get them all.Hey everyone, I just need to get this off my chest.
Maybe I’m wrong, but it feels like DDO doesn’t offer anything meaningful for long-time players who’ve been around since the old days, whether it’s events, Black Friday deals, or even the Year of the Dragon.
Isn’t there any concept of a 'Thank You Sale' or 'Appreciation Event' in this game to say, 'Thanks for playing, everyone'?
I'm going to assume you've already used at least one tome towards a stat. If so, try checking the store on a different character as iirc the supreme tomes don't show up correctly if you've already got a tome with a +stat on the character checking the store.I see Tome of Supreme Ability +8 on sale on Cannith, but not on Cormyr. In fact, on Cormyr I do not see ANY Tomes of Supreme Ability (+1, etc.)
Is this intentional?
The store is full of wonk; I can't see any ability tomes on my main, can totally see them on my bank alts. Hopefully an alt gets around the issue for you.I will try that, but on Cannith server I made sure to check the store window on my main, who already used a Tome of Supreme Ability +8 long time ago. Yet my main can see it.
Scroll up and see the solution... make an alt to grab one:Where are the +8 Tomes of Supreme Ability? I cant find it in the ddo store no matter where or how i search for them,

Yes, I created an alt on Cormyr, and was able to buy a +8 Tome
FFXIV offers a lag-free gaming experience, prompt bug-fixes, and a dev team that actively asks for input from the player base (and listens to them!)I don't know. Square Enix pumps millions and millions of dollars into their software and development teams and servers. SSG's team probably dreams of FFXIV's budget.FFXIV offers a lag-free gaming experience, prompt bug-fixes, and a dev team that actively asks for input from the player base (and listens to them!)
I think this is more a case of assuming malice as the more optimistic option. A reverse Hanlon's Razor - if the devs are evil and hate us, there could be an incentive or a change of heart that could cause them to fix things. If they're merely incompetent, there's no hope of better things to come.I think this world would be a better place if we all stopped assuming that every problem that arises is due to active malice.
Not impressed at all... These black Friday sales are extremely underwhelming. The IoD reasoning is very short sighted. I left the game for years and came back and bought packs with points, give me a reasonable price to get the bundles... I'm the type of player that would buy these for the hirelings and cosmetics if they were a reasonable sale price. I've spent 40k points over the last 6 months, (I bought MD ultimate) I'm the player you should be targeting... But, the bundle pricing is still way out of whack.
Or they could be doing their best with a shoestring budget and 18 year old code, and (likely) people above them who simply do not care about anything but making as much money as possible. Point being, I just don't see active malice from the dev team, and assuming they're evil, greedy, or incompetent just seems cruel. I would hate to work a job where I was doing my best with limited resources, and faced nothing but abuse from customers all day. Oh wait, I already worked retail.I think this is more a case of assuming malice as the more optimistic option. I don't think that the people are evil, greedy, or incompetent. On the other hand, I think that the company, as an entity, is all of those things. The company keeps chasing quarterly profits and milestones at the cost of the long-term health (and profitability) of the game.Chances are good they're being told by their boss to ignore lag and produce more content that people will spend money on, create sales on the things that aren't selling well and not do sales for the popular items, or there may be other things behind the scenes that we simply don't know about. At my job, if I told my clients what was going on behind the scenes, my boss would fire me in a heartbeat, lol.
And that's completely fair. Capitalism and the pursuit of endlessly increasing profits turns even the best of companies into monsters, and I don't think anyone is expecting either side to be a charity.I don't think that the people are evil, greedy, or incompetent. From where I'm sitting, it impossible to see whether the problems start at EG7, or Daybreak, or SSG, but it's also immaterial. The problems exist, and I am no more a charity freely offering money to the game to keep the lights on, than they are a charity providing the game out of kindness. They need to earn my money if they want it, as they have already squandered my trust and goodwill.
