The Rival likely means a demon lord: So zuggtmoy does make an obvious choice, but the Grazzt chain might be a viable option as well. Is there any named ooze in that chain?

Depths of Darkness is my first guess based on quest name a lone. but it certainly does hit at Pit and Toee with the rival stuff... must.. acquire..

My last and most obvious guess for the "Where his blessed roam" would be the Pit Avatar chest.

To find and form the oozing mark
delve within the deepest dark
kill what lives in rival's home
and look deep where his blessed roam
break the glass in which they slept
and don't forget where secret's kept
six to three make two then one

Yeah, that seems obvious. Which means it's at least 50% likely to be wrong on purpose. (edit: Nevermind, this is a puzzle meant to be solved today, there will be no misdirects.)

The issue is that there's "Six to three make two then one".

That's only five ingredients, unless it's specifically requiring six green globes, three pink globes, two grey globes and one blue globe.

And the idea of farming three globes off of avatar of Juiblex just sounds awful.

Okay, so in that case, it becomes a matter of finding the combination of globes that glom together into subcomponents, as well as finding the sixth globe. If that's the case, then there needs to be a sixth ingredient, so I'd guess somewhere in the Underdark for "the Deepest Dark".

Edit: Unless it's something with Dreaming Dark. Durks being involved at all is throwing me off---everything else is FR content.

6th orb is probably in Depths of Darkness, even though my initial inclination was Dreaming Dark.

What's the drop rate looking like? I ran Depths of Darkness 6 times, hitting the optional chests (but not the end chest, it might be in there)

So far on actual chests, i'm 100% on these special chests. I also got nothing on Depths of Darkness.

Black = ToD Saga
Gray = White Plume
Blue = Durk
Pink = The pit
Green = ToEE water temple.

presumably 1 more.. big time ooze and cubes seem to be the theme.

The black orb is clearly not part of the riddle. There's only 5 locations in the riddle, and 6 orbs, so the black one is outside of it.

In order:
Delve within the Deepest Dark: Unknown
Kill what lives in Rival's home: TOEE
Look deep where his blessed roam: The Pit
Break the glass in which they slept: WPM
And don't forget where secret's kept: Durk's

The first is probably hiding somewhere in the Darklake. It could also possibly be in the Kingsforest Underdark, but that seems outside of the level range we see on all the others, which are level 9 at max.

Perhaps there's other elements involved, like ooze type. DDO has 6 types of ooze. Grey Ooze, Black Pudding, Ochre Jelly, Violet Slime, Arcane Ooze, and Gelatinous Cube.

Avatar of Juiblex is an arcane ooze.
Muck is a grey ooze.
WPM jars have black puddings.
TOEE is a Gelatinous cube.

That leaves violet slimes and ochre jellies.

Both of those types are found in Depths of Darkness, Discord, and Doom. One of those three seems like the best shot. Of the two types, ochre jelly seems like the more likely candidate, it's a long time old school classic D&D monster.

There aren't a lot of named or notable ochre jellies:
Alluvium is in Whispers of Return - right level range, but in another expansion.
Experimental Byproduct in Soul Survival - too high level.
Festering Sludge in Haunting of Saltmarsh - Different expansion again.
Glomm in Last Stand - Another good candidate, but there doesn't seem to be any delving or darkness connection to it, since this is an outdoor fight.
Phlegm in belly of the beast - Different expansion, level range is off, but it's definitely delving in darkness.
