They Need to fix the deadly diabolist set:

2 Pieces Equipped:

  • Your Summons, Charmed Monsters, and Hirelings gain +12 to all Ability Scores

If you unequip the gear, your summons loose the bonus. The summons that appear when you have the Set on should stay with the buff and not be removed when switching gear.

Its the same for the necklace out of ravenloft, it has always been that way, likely to avoid bugs. Imagine reequipping the item over and over.

The Summon should only get the bonus if you equip the gear as it's Summoning, I wouldn't think it would become accumulative by equipping and un-equipping it back and forth, that would surely be a bug.

The bonus needs to stay only once if your Summons appears when you have the gear on only that one time.
I know Warlocks and Druids have more abilities to make the Summons stronger but not sure if it affects them as well.

Hard disagree. snapshotting inflated values should not be the fix to summons being awful.

In fact, fewer things should allow/enable snapshotting values from swap items. It's a crutch to bad code and exacerbates the widening gap between newer players and veterans.

Full Stop Disagree to your Disagree. The bonus is there for the purpose of Summons. Summons being awful is not what this issue is about, that could be another line of discussion. When I summon a Hezrou, he goes straight to jail...one Slap Chop and he's done.

People use snap shot effects all the time: In Boss Fights how many people switch and Click Haste/Power Boost/Know the Angles, etc, etc, etc and then switch back to their main items, they don't loose their Boosts when they switch out of that set.

Top Players do it all the time. Everyone switches to a different item to boost their ability in hitting the number to successfully roll an action.

If you switch to Augment Summoning and Summon a baddie, that baddie should remain a baddie, if you switched to soon and it didn't spawn after, then you got yourself something you can throw to the streets and watch it pop.

There will always be New Players. Someone is going to be born tomorrow and log in five years from now. Should we not of had invented a Slap Chop because they don't know how to use it?

There are less then a handful of decent summons/spawns in the game.
The oozes, shadows and the hounds, they all fall into the epic level range.
Of heroics, only the beholder is a keeper (pun not intended... but made me giggle anyway.)
Those all come off items, not from enhancements, destinies or whatever.
Which is so much odd that it feels off.
At legendary, I only use the meteor swarm, for distractions from my arcane trickster. It's lifespan is usually shorter than the cooldown, with buffs and bardsongs, imagine that.

Summons and the like are all tailored around normal/casual difficulty, but for most of the players, R1 is the norm.
I hope that we'll get a system where the summons grow with the summoners starts & level, and that we'll get decent ways to boost both their performance; more durable, more powerful and faster... waaaay faster cycling through their offensive scripts.

In R10 the Summons don't really last but only the Legendary Oozes (flubber reflex).
Flaming Spheres can float around a bit as well but they're off on their own, girl.
If you want your Summons to survive, you need to be the Tank.

I just want a distraction to group mobs up for easy cc, and the dryad works pretty good for that, even in high reaper. Once they turn on me she'll occasionally throw a heal or two as well, but you can't count on it.

It's like the Summons are Entitled and they kind of slack at what they were Called Upon to help.
By the looks of them, the physiognomy on their face is like, they'd rather be doing something else than this.

No need to apologize. It wasn't completely off topic from the rest of the thread, it was just a side quest to complete on our way to winning DDO and the Forums.
